The Boys and its spinoff Gen V feature superheroes with the most unconventional superpowers imaginable. The landscape of both series is filled with extraordinary abilities ranging from inspiring to bizarre. In this post, we will learn about some of the weirdest superpowers that will leave you questioning the limits of human potential.
Elastic Body - Ezekiel (The Boys)
Ezekiel was not a member of the seven but was kind of a celebrity like the rest of the superheroes. He was the main organizer of Caps for Christ and strongly influenced the public. His body possessed the power of elasticity, and he could stretch, twist, and contort it unimaginably.
He could make bizarre and disturbing shapes with his body that were hard to watch. The character is a parody of superheroes like Plastic Man by DC and Mr. Fantastic by Marvel.
A Long Rat Tail - Harper (Gen V)
Harper was a student at the infamous Godolkin University city. She was injected with Compound-V shortly after her birth. This gave her the weirdest superpowers in Gen V, i.e. a long rat tail.
Tails in rats help them keep balance when it is on all it's four legs. In a human with two legs, the rat tail serves no purpose. However, in one scene, Harper does hit Justine with her tail.
Acidic Vomit - Unknown (The Boys)
In the Sage Grove Center, there were several supes with disgusting powers. The strangest one was an unnamed man who could produce and vomit a deadly melt-inducing substance. This contains acidic contents that can immediately injure the opponent upon contact.
However, there was a catch: he wasn't immune to his superpower. In a fight with Kimiko, a.k.a The Female, he was injured with fatal acid burns.
Naked Teleportation - Hughie (The Boys)
After he joined the Butcher in his rampage, Hughie has always been one of the main characters in The Boys. He wanted to do more and got the option under the influence of V-24: a compound-V variant that gives individual superpowers for 24 hours. His powers were exceptional strength, durability, speed, and teleportation.
But Hughie could only teleport organic matter across space and time. This means that his clothes were left behind every time he performed teleportation. If anyone joined him for the ride, they'd be naked as well. This led to some awkward situations for Hughie.
Breathing Through Fish Gills - The Deep (The Boys)
The Deep was a member of The Seven, and fans often consider him a cheap version of Aquaman. This was because both characters had enhanced strength and could communicate with marine life and breathe effortlessly underwater. There was one difference: Deep had a set of gills that helped him breathe, and Aquaman could breathe underwater with his human body.
The gills made him self-conscious. However, the downside was that gills made him vulnerable to attack, meaning anyone aiming for the gills could defeat him in a fight.
Blood Flow Control - Marie Moreau (Gen V)
Marie Monreau from Gen V has one of the most life-saving superpowers. She could control the blood flow of a person and save their lives. Besides that, she can use her abilities to sense abnormalities in people's bodies and use her blood as an offensive weapon.
When she gained her powers and used her for the first time, she accidentally gave her parents fatal wounds. But after that, she could reverse a woman's blood flow and save her life.
Baby With Eye Laser - Unknown (The Boys)
Butcher and Mother's Milk were out looking for clues in a hospital when they discovered a room with newborn babies hooked with Compound V. As soon as the Butcher sees this, he says in his famous dialogue, "This is diabolical". This is when the huge truth breaks that supes aren't born but made.
Very soon, they are surrounded by security guards, and then the Butcher picks one of the babies, and it then shoots laser beams from his eyes. There’s even a whole episode dedicated to the laser baby in the animated spinoff, “The Boys Presents Diabolical.”
Fecal Manipulation - Sky (The Boys Presents: Diabolical)
Sky is another character from the adult spin-off The Boys presents Diabolical. She is a little girl in a new town and is desperate to make friends to hang out with. Because of this, she steals a while of Compound V from a pot dealer. After consuming it, she gains powers that allow her to control beings made with her waste.
With this ability to control human waste, she creates a creature named Aerola. In an episode, she fights with The Deep and makes him retreat. This is one of the weirdest superpowers in The Boys.
Claws That Retract - Popclaw (The Boys)
Popclaw was A-Train's girlfriend, who he killed later in the show. She turned to drugs and was often caught by paparazzi drunk and partying. She was among the weirdest supes in The Boys. Her powers allowed her to extend claws from her wrists and use them in combat.
She never evolved into a superhero despite this unique and show-off-worthy ability. She couldn't even fight when the Butcher and Mother's Milk broke into her house.
Limbs That Regenerate - Gecko (The Boys)
Gecko was Starlight's childhood friend, they attended Capes of Christ together and participated in plays. When Hughie and Annie were tracking him down, they saw him getting into a hotel and letting a man chop his arm in exchange for money. This is when they know that Gecko can regenerate his body parts.
However, this power isn't that extraordinary, as Kimiko has the same regenerative abilities. All goes in Hughie and Annie's favor as they blackmail him into stealing a sample of Compound V.
The Boys and Gen V have delivered plenty of unconventional superpowers from the absurd to the downright disgusting. While often humorous or disturbing, these abilities serve as a stark contrast to the traditional superhero archetype. With their bizarre powers, these characters push the boundaries of what it means to be a superhero.
