Marie’s benefactor is Victoria Neuman, the head-popping Supe. Victoria took an interest in Marie after seeing that they had the same powers. They also both grew up at the Red River Institute. Victoria didn’t want Marie to be shipped off to other facilities, so she got her into Godolkin.

Marie and Victoria first meet in Gen V’s seventh episode. Marie later tells her that she thinks that the whole school is a lie, but Victoria says that God U is her shot at having some control over her life.

She tells Marie that she could be the first Black woman in The Seven, which would then give her real power. She also tells Marie that they should keep in touch.

Victoria may like Marie because they have things in common, but from what we have seen in The Boys, we know that she always has an ulterior motive. But what her plans for Marie really are, that’s something that has yet to be seen.

When Marie tells Victoria about the Woods and the virus that can kill Supes, Victoria says that she will handle it.

She meets with Dr. Cardosa and tells him that speaking out against Vought takes a lot of courage. He responds that he was so relieved Victoria contacted him regarding his research because he could not stand by any longer while Dean Shetty twisted his work.

So, Dr. Cardosa hands over the virus to Victoria, with the thinking that they have the same goal: “compassionate control” over the Supes. Victoria then explodes his head with her powers.

The virus is with Victoria now, but it’s unclear what she’s going to do with it. She may use it to threaten other Supes, hand it over to Stan Edgar, or do anything that would work to her advantage.

What her plans really are (with Marie and the virus) could be something that would be addressed in either the final episode of Gen V Season 1 or in The Boys Season 4.
