Fans have been wondering since Qimir was unmasked: is there more to Mae's Sith Master? And who does he work for? A recent fan theory says none other than Vernestra Rwoh might be Qimir's own Sith Master.

The Acolyte: Fans Think Implies Vernestra May Be Qimir's Sith Master
Qimir shared an interesting piece of information in The Acolyte episode 6 titled Teach/Corrupt. Osha observes that Mae's master has a scar on his lower back and when asked where he got it, he replies cryptically, "someone who threw me away."
But before Osha can guess if he was indeed thrown away by an old Jedi Master, he changes the subject, leaving fans with the burning question who Qimir's former Master could've been.
Conveniently, we soon meet elder Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh, who is investigating the jungle where Jecki and Yord Fandar were slain.
As they try to dig deeper into who the culprit behind this mess could be, the camera focuses on Vernestra just as she appears to guess at the missing puzzle piece in the crime scene.
Instead of voicing her suspicion, however, she dismisses further investigations and prepares the bodies for burial.
However, fans are not ready to move forward without addressing it first: could Venestra Rwoh be Qimir's master? Did she recognize her former apprentice's work at the crime scene? If so, why did she choose to stay silent?

The Main Clue Indicating Qimir Was Vernestra's Padawan
As Star Wars fans scrambled their brains to figure out whether or not Vernestra is the Jedi Master Qimir was talking about, one fan pointed out Rwoh's unusual choice of weapon. The Jedi wields a lightsaber whip instead of the standard issue lightsaber.
And what else could have struck and scarred Qimir's back like that if not a whip?
At one point, fans surmised that Qimir might be the former padawan Vernestra trained, an apprentice named Imri Cantaros, who was described as being "highly attuned to others' emotions."
The only thing that could potentially break this theory is the fact that in the source material, Imri survived the Starlight Beacon and was later knighted by Vernestra herself.
Then again, live-action Star Wars typically changes some bits and pieces from their literature counterparts.
Well, one thing remains for certain, we would have to wait until the next The Acolyte episode premieres to get our answers. In the meantime, fans can leave comments on this article on why they agree or not with this theory in the series.
