Mae just pulled a classic C-P3O moment on Osha's Pip droid. The Acolyte episode 6, titled Teach/Corrupt, shows the most devastating death in the growing franchise.

The Acolyte fans may have just found new reserves of annoyance for Osha's twin after this one.

While fans were initially convinced that Mae managed to pull one over the Jedi Master Sol, the sixth episode showed she still has a lot of work to do after coming on board.

Not only does Bazil find her suspicious since the beginning of their trip, but even Pip helps temporarily blind Mae to keep her from snooping around on the ship.

Mae, however, was not going to let the opportunity go to waste as she hacked into Pip's system by pulling a factory reset on Osha's droid to keep it off her back. Fans have never seen a more gruesome death in The Acolyte.

Fans Are Infuriated with the Classic C-3PO Moment

Considering that a factory reset on Pip meant losing the memories they shared together with Osha, the most that fans can hope to see is Osha somehow having a backup file for her droid.

The episode also reminded fans of one of the times that C-3PO got his memories wiped, specifically in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The only difference is Pip's on-screen appearance has been short-lived, thus making their death more impactful to fans new and old alike.

Despite the rage garnered by this callback, however, others pointed out that the factory reset actually helped Osha's case.

It could have given Jedi Master Sol another reason to suspect the Osha he's brought aboard the ship is actually her twin, Mae, thanks to the Pip's glowing red instead of the usual blue.

But by the end of The Acolyte episode 6, Osha has bigger fish to fry than a busted Pip droid. She is forced to sacrifice Pip after what happened, to try and end The Stranger's life once and for all.

Pip is able to help Osha one last time, however, serving as a beacon to attract the umbramoths as they fly over and hunt down Qimir on the jungle planet.
