Greens vs Blacks: Which Side Has the Advantage in Season 2?
House of the Dragon season 2 episode 7 titled The Red Sowing shows Vhagar and Daemon retreating from landing on Dragonstone.
There, Queen Rhaenyra took a prideful stance among their 3 dragons roaring from the distance, as though to have the Greens heed her warning before they lose their beasts.
However, as powerful as the scene psyched fans for the finale of the second season, the Greens are once again portrayed at a disadvantage to the Targaryen civil war.
After Vhagar defeats Rhaenys and her dragon, Meleys, along with Aegon II and his ride, Sunfyre, both factions lose a weapon simultaneously. Still, not enough to put the Blacks to inconvenience. The Greens, after all, are evidently outnumbered.
Keep in mind that the biggest asset the Greens have is Vhagar and his 'tamer', Aemond. Should the Greens lose them, they lose their cards at the table.
In this case, all that would be left for them are Helaena's Dreamfyre and Daeron's Tessarion. Sunfyre included if he miraculously survived his fall.
The Blacks, on the other hand, have far too many dragons yet little trust and resources to find their riders.
Thankfully, the seventh episode shows the Blacks moving forward with their new strategy of adapting more riders to their side of the war:
Rhaenyra has Syrax on her side, Daemon's Caraxes, Jacaerys' Vermax, Baela's Moondancer, Hugh Hammer's Vermithor, and the most recent ones being Seasmoke's choice to hail Addam of Hull as his new rider, with Ulf the White claiming Silverwing as his own.
Not to mention, Queen Rhaenyra plans on pursuing a wild dragon down in the Vale. If she succeeds, the new addition to the roster would be called Sheepstealer.
At this point, it would seem that the Blacks had already bagged their victory before the war could even officially start. There's only one thing endangering Rhaenyra's side of it all, though...

House of the Dragon S2 Warns Rhaenyra That Number Can Only Take Them Far
At the expense of Jacaerys' suggestion to search far and wide for more nobles who possess Targaryen blood, Rhaenyra expanded to consider having bastards claim their dragons from the Black faction.
Jacaerys wasn't keen on supporting his mother's decision, seeing what this could imply in challenging his place on the Iron Throne and in riding their dragons in the future.
Rhaenyra, on the other hand, leans more on the promising result of having several allies on their side, enough to tame their dragons and eventually ride them to war.
Only by the third season (or perhaps season 2's finale) will everything fall into place and unravel what has long been foretold in their fates.
