Insomnia Ep 3 Sheds Light on Chloe's Teenage Rebellion
Insomnia episode 3 titled This Family is So F*cked Up unveiled a couple of new elements to the ongoing story: Emma Averell's alibi sunk and now detectives are even more suspicious of her, seemingly convinced she may know who suffocated her mother to death in the hospital.
As Emma is still trying to navigate her sleepwalking condition, her kids, Will and Chloe, are acting out on their own. While Will is scared in the nightmarish setup of his mother's condition, Chloe has been keeping a dark secret from them.
Robert suspected that the girl, Amy, who texted his daughter was the bad influence behind the change of behavior, though he couldn't prove it on his own. Emma, on the other hand, was right on the money.
So, who is Chloe's friend, Amy, in Insomnia, really?

The Mystery Friend, Amy, is Scarier Than You Think
This 'Amy' texted Chloe 'I love you' at the end of the message, and while this could indicate that Chloe is gay, it's not about that at all. The truth is much more disturbing than you might think.
Emma's suspicion of who Amy is begins when she sees her daughter's jewelry box and realizes it is the same box she saw in Julian's (aka her husband's best friend) car.
When she tries confronting him subtly, Julian plays innocent by saying her daughter is a teenager who's simply being a teenager.
This Amy was further confirmed when Chloe sought advice from Emma's sister, Phoebe, on how to date an older man.
It only becomes clearer to Emma that Julian has been seeing her daughter behind her back when she finds out that Michelle, aka Julian's wife, was only gifted an air fryer for their anniversary.
Emma slaps Chloe for falling for an older man, heck, someone they consider a family friend. Not only would this hurt Michelle, but this meant Julian was capable of fooling younger girls into falling for his deceitful acts.
Thankfully, their mother-daughter talk puts some sense into Chloe and declares that whatever she has with Julian is over.
