One of the highlights of the final episode of Yellowstone is the death of one of the main characters.

Throughout the season, there has been tension between estranged siblings Beth and Jamie and it ended with a bloody brawl when Beth sneaked inside Jamie's house.

At first, it looked like Jamie was going to choke Beth to death. However, Rip arrived just in time and freed Beth. Then, he fatally stabbed Jamie.

In other words, the episode was not just a farewell for the series but also marked their goodbye to Jamie after five seasons of tumultuous journey with the Dutton family.

While the death might be shocking, it was inevitable for many viewers as the series was setting up for Jamie to fail in the end and his rivalry with Beth was always meant to result in a bloody fight.

Elsewhere, viewers also learned the long-awaited fate of the Dutton ranch in the aftermath of John's death.

During the final moments of the episode, the remaining members of the Dutton family did not keep the estate as Kayce decided to sell the property to the Broken Rock tribe led by Chief Thomas Rainwater.

Beth and Rip decided to move to a new home somewhere now that the ranch was no longer in their family's ownership. Perhaps we will learn more about their future in the upcoming spinoff series that is currently in the works.

As the tribe took over the ranch, they removed the Dutton name from the signage and decided to keep the graveyard.

The ranch's fate was not surprising as we saw that John had warmed up to the idea of selling the land back to the tribe. Now, it has become a reality, and the Dutton family legacy has shifted.
