What happened to Scott Scurlock's treehouse? The notorious bank robber who gained the moniker "Hollywood" used to reside in his gorgeous dream house, which he built with his friends outside Olympia, Washington.

Here's what actually happened to the dream house the 'Lost Boy' built for himself.

Hollywood Bandit's Bank Heist Birthed the True Crime Series

Netflix's How to Rob a Bank documentary series follows the story of "Hollywood's" infamous bank heists and how he had successfully evaded the police by disguising himself like the actors in movies such as Point Break.

Scott Scurlock managed to get away with the grand theft total of 19 banks, snatching a bigger sum than $2 million while working alongside his cohorts, Steve Meyers and Mark Biggins.

Unfortunately, before Scurlock could get arrested for pulling off his bank heists, he took his own life, as reported, while he was engaged in a gunfight with the police. That said, what happened to the treehouse after he died?

What Happened to Scott Scurlock's Treehouse After His Death?

Before Scurlock was out in pursuit of his bank heists, it was previously reported that he lived in a three-story treehouse outside Olympia, Washington, where he allegedly lived on and off for more than a decade.

The 1500-square-foot treehouse looked as though it came out of a fairy tale book, considering that any kid at heart would want to reside in one.

Scurlock was reported to have used the barn and his built treehouse to cook drugs, where the latter had a 60-foot stairway, a large fireplace, and an outdoor bathing area, all of which function with plumbing and electricity.

It took him (with the help of his friends) two weeks to completely build the property as the drugs kept them actively awake, all while using wood they stole from a nearby lumberyard and used the property to sell off drugs, according to Ann Rule's The End of the Dream: The Golden Boy Who Never Grew Up.

After the death of the house owner, the only natural way to treat the property is by selling it. In 1997, Scott's father, retired minister Bill Scurlock, said, "The estate has debts that we can't pay unless we sell the property."

On the other hand, Scott's mother, Mary Jane Scurlock, didn't want the treehouse to go to waste, considering she wanted to preserve their son's dream home, "I would hate to see it destroyed."

The treehouse's estimated value was around $106,000, according to Seattle lawyer Lincoln D. Sieler.

At the time, the topmost part of the tree house had already been blown down, which Scurlock's girlfriend disclosed, "This is what you call a high-maintenance house."

That was way back in 1997 when the house had shown signs of being worn down: the floorboards were already buckled, and tree trunks were growing against the walls. Ultimately, the treehouse hadn't survived.
