Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 has stunned fans with its intense turn of events, especially in its cliffhanging finale, where the lead star (played by Jenna Ortega) seemingly dies after being thrown out of a window by Tyler’s (Hunter Doohan) monstrous alter ego, a Hyde.
While the first part delivers what fans expect from the show, one aspect has left them disappointed: the romance between Wednesday and Enid (Emma Myers) now looks unlikely.
Will Wednesday and Enid Be Together in Season 2 Part 2?

Despite being complete opposites—Wednesday loves all things dark, while Enid radiates bright colors—many fans have been shipping them since Season 1.
However, based on events in Wednesday Season 2 Part 1, a “Wenclair” romance seems far from happening.
In fact, it appears that a romantic relationship isn’t in Wednesday’s cards right now, with Tyler seeking revenge against her and Enid, and Xavier (Percy Hynes White) having transferred to Reichenbach Academy in Switzerland.
Ortega herself revealed that the series is “ditching” the love story aspect of her character.
“We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more. Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously,” she told Variety. “We’re ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great.”
As for Enid, she’s caught in a love triangle between Ajax (Georgie Farmer) and her new werewolf companion, Bruno (Noah B. Taylor).
Judging by the story so far, this arc will continue into Wednesday Season 2 Part 2, making a romance with Wednesday in the current season’s final four episodes highly unlikely.
Is There a Chance for Wednesday and Enid to Form a Relationship?

Enid and Wednesday are not only roommates—they are also the best of friends, however unlikely that may seem. Fans have loved their contrasting personalities, which has led many to root for them as a couple.
However, it seems the hit Netflix series has no plans to go in that direction. Co-creator Alfred Gough told Decider that the show primarily focuses on exploring the two characters’ friendship.
“It’s a show about female friendship and people can read into it whatever they want, which is great,” he said. “I mean, that’s the beauty of television, is people can take ownership, but they’re very much friends.”
His co-showrunner Miles Millar echoed the same sentiment, explaining that Wednesday is “about sisterhood and what that means.” However, he still finds it “amazing” that fans see Wednesday and Enid that way.
So, does this mean there’s no chance for them to form a romantic relationship? As they say, change is inevitable.
While the creators already have a “roadmap” for where things are going, Millar told The Hollywood Reporter in 2022 that they would “like to have routes along that map that take you in unexpected directions.”
“So, we’re open to everything,” he continued. “But we’re not gonna be, this is where you sometimes get misdirected by fans and things like that, so it’s just being really open to see how those characters develop and that friendship.”
With that being said, fans will have to wait and see how things develop between Enid and Wednesday—especially now that Season 3 has been confirmed.
Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 is slated to release on September 3 on Netflix.
