Does Wednesday Addams Die in Season 2? Unpacking the Part 1 Finale

All was horrifying and terrible the minute Wednesday season 2 returned to Netflix, but just as the first part ended its first four episodes, we witnessed the death of one key character in the story: Wednesday Addams. Here, we explore the truth of whether or not she really did die and what part 2 holds for fans.

What Happened to Wednesday Addams in Season 2 Part 1 Finale?

Wednesday season 2 warned fans of a grim future. The Addams' eldest daughter had a vision of her werewolf roommate, Enid (played by Emma Myers), dying. With a string of mystery murders in Jericho and Wednesday's developing psychic visions, it seemed Enid was next on the list.

Despite how Wednesday appeared to 'hate' Enid's guts, that's their love language talking, and she wasn't about to lose her best friend in Nevermore Academy.

Thanks to the common pattern of crows in sight, Wednesday figured out that she's dealing with a skilled avian using birds on her murder spree.

It wasn't until the fourth and final episode of part 1 that Wednesday retrieved the ashes from the orbituaries of outcasts at Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital. Her grandmother, Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley), then concluded that the outcasts were cremated.

Wednesday, being the investigator that she is, tracked down more evidence at the hospital and found out that death certificates of the cremated outcasts were faked and that they're likely to be used for endless experiments, including Tyler.

Unfortunately, before she could get to the bottom of why the hospital is using outcasts for their experiments called the LOIS (Long-term Outcast Integration Study) program, Wednesday runs into Tyler in his Hyde form. Unable to control his actions, Tyler throws her out of the window, seemingly leaving her to her death.

But Does Wednesday Really Die? The Repercussions of Her Actions

In Wednesday Addams' attempt to save her friends from Willow, she, in turn, suffered the consequences. So, to answer the question of whether she lives or dies: Wednesday lives in episode 5, but not in the way you think.

If fans watched the scene after the credits of the fourth episode, they got a preview from Netflix of what episode 5 holds. The clip shows Wednesday surrounded by her family as they wait for her to wake up from a coma.

And wouldn't you know it? Even though Wednesday originally set out to rescue Enid, the preview trailer appears to tease Enid coming to save her this time. But that's not all! Maybe we'll finally get to see her transform into the werewolf we've all been waiting for. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
