Wednesday wouldn't be Wednesday without gruesome murders and a killer running amok, just as the key character is on the brink of figuring out her psychic abilities. In season 2, part 1, do we get to unmask the Avian? Who are they? And why are they using crows to attack people on the show? Let's dive in.
WARNING: This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Wednesday season 2, so proceed with caution.
What's Up with the Crows in Wednesday Season 2?
Crows usually symbolize death, but in this case, they're the perpetrators acting like the grim reaper. They made their first appearance in season 2 episode 1, targeting a seemingly random photographer in the woods.

The crows may look normal at first glance, but don't let that fool you. In fact, the closer the photographer looked, the clearer he saw that the crow had damage. Where there's damage, there's an owner or a master controller behind it all.
Of the many mysteries Wednesday season 2 is trying to uncover, the Avian rose to top priority, considering the number of deaths that spread through the town's crime scene. Luckily, before the first part ended, the truth behind the Avian and her identity had been unveiled.
Who is the Avian, and Why is She Killing People Off with Crows?
While Fester and Wednesday were piecing evidence together in orbituaries and the outcasts in the Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital, the cloaked Avian took matters into her own hands: it's Judi, the executive assistant at the facility, aka Augustus' daughter.
Apparently, it's Dr. Fairburn who works for the Avian, not the other way around. If anything, she used him as the public face of the institution, to keep LOIS (Long-term Outcast Integration Study) alive.
As it turns out, the vision Wednesday Addams saw of Enid might have been related to their experiments. Given that Enid, too, is figuring out her powers to transform into a werewolf, she's still in danger of being the next target.
It was Judi's father who founded the program to harvest the powers of the outcasts to become one himself. As much as he yearned to be a Da Vinci, an outcast who possessed telekinetic ability, his body couldn't merge with its powers. It was too much.
Judi took on the position, becoming a testament to his work, thus transforming herself into an Avian.
Fans will have to wait for Wednesday season 2 part 2, to release on September 3.
