Oscar-winning actress and Chris Martin's ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, starred in a new advertisement video from Astronomer that addressed the company's post-scandal era.

The tech company has been in the spotlight for the past few weeks after its now-former CEO, Andy Byron, and former HR chief Kristin Cabot were spotted attending the Coldplay concert in Boston together and caught in an intimate situation by the kiss cam jumbotron, despite being married to their respective partners. They have become the subject of many memes and ridicule by people worldwide.

Why Did Gwyneth Paltrow Agree to Star in Astronomer's Post-Scandal Advertisement?

In response to the viral moment, Astronomer worked with Maximum Effort and Paltrow in a new advertisement that addresses the post-scandal era of the tech company.

What made Paltrow's involvement more significant is that she is the ex-wife of Martin, and her ambassadorial duty in the advertisement is seen as the company's tongue-in-cheek approach to handling the PR crisis.

"I’ve been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer," she said in the video. "We’ve been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation."

According to a report from People, the making of the advertisement "came together very quickly" and "the company reached out to her."

If you're wondering why Paltrow agreed to do it, sources told them that she "has a really great sense of humor and it felt funny enough for her to do."

How is Astronomer Dealing with the Aftermath of the Scandal?

Byron and Cabot have resigned from their respective positions at Astronomer days after their Coldplay concert moment became viral.

Pete DeJoy took over as the new interim CEO of the company. He promised in a statement that they are moving forward from the controversy and they are "building something great" as they step into the new direction.

"The events of the past few days have received a level of media attention that few companies—let alone startups in our small corner of the data and AI world—ever encounter," he wrote.

"The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name."

DeJoy added, "To our team: thank you for your resilience & commitment to building something great. And to our community and customers: thank you for your trust. We won’t let you down."
