Gen V Season 1 consists of eight episodes. The first three episodes were released on September 29, 2023, while the last episode was released on November 3, 2023.

What Is Gen V About?

Gen V is loosely based on The Boys comic book story arc "We Gotta Go Now" by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
Gen V takes place at a superhero college, Godolkin University, which is run by Vought International. The spin-off follows a group of young adult supes who are trained to be the next generation of heroes.

When Is Gen V Set? Is The Boys Spin-off a Sequel or Prequel?

Gen V is neither a sequel nor a prequel, as the series takes place between The Boys Season 3 and Season 4. So, it takes place simultaneously with The Boys, after the end of Season 3 and before the start of Season 4.
The Boys actress Claudia Doumit says that Gen V will set up The Boys Season 4. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly conducted prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike, Doumit revealed that Gen V lays a lot of the “groundwork” and “foundations” for Season 4. She said:

Will There Be a Gen V Season 2?

Yes! Gen V Season 2 is confirmed! Amazon announced the renewal of the spin-off on October 19, 2023.
