Beyoncé has officially joined the billionaire’s club. Forbes named the Queen Bey the fifth musician to reach a 10-figure fortune, joining the ranks of her husband Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, and Rihanna.

However, Beyoncé’s ascent to the top didn’t happen overnight – it took years of hard work. So, how did the superstar build her billion-dollar fortune?

In her more than 30 years in the business, Beyoncé has become a force to be reckoned with. Her talent extends beyond singing and songwriting; she is also an actress and a businesswoman, having launched several ventures over the years.

According to Forbes, much of her wealth comes from her music, from revenue generated by controlling the rights to her enormous catalog to her global tours.

In fact, the success of her Cowboy Carter tour, which grossed over $400 million in ticket sales and another $50 million in merchandise sales, is credited with catapulting her into billionaire status. The tour was even named the world’s highest-grossing music tour of 2025.

“Across any category of the entertainment industry, there is practically no enterprise more lucrative than a musician who can sell out stadiums,” Forbes wrote, noting that the concert tour employed 350 crew members, used 100 semi-trucks’ worth of equipment, and required eight 747 cargo planes to move the show from city to city.

Her 2024 album Cowboy Carter was also critically acclaimed, earning her a Grammy for Album of the Year. She holds the record as the most-awarded and most-nominated artist in Grammy history.

In addition, Beyoncé earned approximately $50 million for her 2020 halftime performance, dubbed the “Beyoncé Bowl,” for the NFL’s Christmas game, and another $10 million for her work in Levi’s commercials.

Meanwhile, her Renaissance world tour earned her more than $579 million.

Over the years, Beyoncé has launched several business ventures. She has a hair care brand, Cécred; a whiskey label, SirDavis; and a clothing line, Ivy Park, which was discontinued in 2024.

She also founded the management and production company Parkwood Entertainment in 2010, giving her control over all her artistic ventures, including music, concerts, and documentaries, in-house.

Because Parkwood produces and manages these projects internally, Beyoncé is able to earn higher profit margins.

When her touring income, music catalog revenue, and sponsorship deals are combined, her estimated earnings for 2025 reach approximately $148 million before taxes. This makes her the third-highest-paid musician in the world, behind Taylor Swift, who earned $202 million, and The Weeknd, who topped the list with $298 million.

Like Swift, Beyoncé also produced a concert film for her Renaissance World Tour and distributed it directly through the AMC theater chain, earning her roughly half of the film’s $44 million global box office gross.

With all that considered, it’s no surprise that Beyoncé has officially joined the billionaire ranks.
