Now that Robert Downey Jr. is confirmed to be the next Avengers-level threat in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans are turning their eyes to Anthony Mackie’s upcoming movie Captain America: Brave New World.
Part of the MCU’s Phase Five, Captain America: Brave New World, continues off where the TV show Falcon and The Winter Soldier ended, with Sam Wilson taking over the mantle of the First Avenger.
It would seem that Anthony Mackie is excited about the movie for many reasons, particularly about the date he’ll come with during the movie premiere.
During an interview at Ace Comic Con Seattle 2018, MCU fans witnessed Tom Holland roast Antony Mackey after the former mentioned that he had never watched Tom’s Spider-Man: Homecoming movie. Tom Holland quipped back jokingly, saying, “I haven’t seen the Falcon movie—oh no, there isn’t one. Sorry.” This sent fans into roaring laughter.
This remark may or may not have induced trauma to Anthony, but now that he’s the titular character in the upcoming movie, he mentioned, “I’m excited for Tom Holland to see my movie. He’s my date to the premiere. Zendaya, whatever you need to do, come with your friend or something. But he’s coming with me.”
Tom Holland might have sealed his fate on that day in Ace Comic Con Seattle 2018, but now, the new Captain America, the former Falcon, will finally have his own movie next year.
Captain America: Brave New World follows Sam Wilson as he faces new threats as the brand-new Captain America.
While he may have big shoes to fill, he definitely has bigger allies to work with, such as President Thunderbolt Ross’ Red Hulk.
Now that Sam Wilson is the new Captain America, Joaquin Torres will take on becoming the next Falcon, as seen in the latest teaser trailer.
