Alien: Earth Season 2 set photos have teased the return of a dark franchise villain: Weyland-Yutani.
The villainous mega-corporation is known for sacrificing human crews, colonists, and soldiers to capture, study, and weaponize the deadly Xenomorph species, acting as the franchise’s true shadow antagonist.
Now that the corporation has made its way to the FX sci-fi horror series, what will be The Company’s role in Alien: Earth Season 2?
Is Weyland-Yutani in Alien: Earth Season 2?
Alien: Earth Season 2 is now deep in production, and filming is not limited to the studio.
New set photos reveal that cameras have started rolling on the streets of London, and one of the scenes shows the branded vehicles and employees of Weyland-Yutani near the historic Canary Wharf.
The huge, armored, and futuristic vehicles travel through the area bearing the company’s logo, hinting at what’s to come in the second season.
Other images also reveal a modern building guarded by what appear to be armed employees.
But despite this big tease, FX has yet to reveal what is really being filmed in London and how it will factor into the upcoming installment.
But that doesn’t stop fans from theorizing about what will happen, especially knowing how Wey-Yu works.
What Will Be Weyland-Yutani’s Role in Alien: Earth Season 2?
Weyland-Yutani already made its way to Alien: Earth in the first season as one of the five mega-corporations that control the planet, alongside Prodigy, Threshold, Dynamic, and Lynch.
It introduced CEO Ms. Yutani (Sandra Yi) as the face of the corporate dynasty’s Yutani side.
Wey-Yu is nearly synonymous with the Alien franchise, being one of the two most important corporations and owning virtually all of the Americas. It also provides the backdrop for Ridley Scott’s original 1979 classic by owning the USCSS Nostromo.
In Alien: Earth Season 2, the company is expected to escalate its aggressive corporate war against Prodigy to capture alien specimens and neutralize its rival’s advanced synthetic, Wendy (Sydney Chandler).
Wey-Yu remains desperate to recover the alien specimens and cargo from the crashed USCSS Maginot that Prodigy managed to secure in New Siam.
And by the looks of it, the new set photos tease its strict security and military forces, complete with heavy vehicles, playing a more direct, boots-on-the-ground role in urban environments.
As Wey-Yu sees Prodigy’s creation of Wendy as a direct threat to its market dominance, it may deploy its own advanced, emotionally complex, or combat-effective synthetic models, such as rumored models like Thea and Tessa, to outmaneuver Wendy and sabotage Prodigy.
So far, there are no words yet on when Alien: Earth Season 2 will be released, but it is expected to come out in late 2027. The first season is available to stream on Disney+.
