Alien: Earth Season 1 has wrapped up after a successful eight-episode run. With the finale ending in a dramatic shift in power dynamics, fans are now wondering if the series will continue with a second season.

In an unexpected twist, the Alien: Earth Season 1 finale featured no major character deaths—only the losses of supporting figures Siberian (Diêm Camille) and Rashidi (Moe Bar-El).
However, the lack of major casualties doesn’t mean there’s no story left to tell. In fact, the ending sets up a fresh premise that could pave the way for a potential Season 2.
Will Alien: Earth Season 2 Happen?

FX has yet to officially renew Alien: Earth for Season 2, but it seems likely to happen soon. In fact, the network appears to be prioritizing the series over creator Noah Hawley’s other project, Fargo.
"We’re pretty bullish on Alien: Earth," FX chairman John Landgraf told Variety in July 2024. "And we’ve told him that assuming, as we hope, Alien: Earth is a returning television series, we want him to focus on at least writing two seasons of it before returning to a possible sixth season of Fargo."
Hawley himself has also hinted at the possibility of a second season if the show proved successful.
“Season 1 is the proof of concept. And if it works commercially, then Season 2 is about building a model upon which we can envision making a Season 3, 4, 5," he said.
Believing they had “launched incredibly well,” Hawley later told The Hollywood Reporter: “As long as they let me tell stories in this tone of voice, I’m going to tell stories in this tone of voice.”
With that in mind, it now seems fans are only waiting for official confirmation that Season 2 will move forward.
What to Expect from Alien: Earth Season 2?

So far, there’s no word yet on what will happen in Alien: Earth Season 2. However, it’s expected to pick up right where the first season left off.
Wendy (Sydney Chandler) and the Lost Boys now control Prodigy’s Neverland research island, holding Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin), Kirsch (Timothy Olyphant), Dame Sylvia (Essie Davis), Atom Eins (Adrian Edmondson), and Morrow (Babou Ceesay) as prisoners.
Wendy also has the xenomorphs at her command, though it may only be for now. So, it remains to be seen how long this fragile relationship will last.
“An Alien movie is a two-hour survival story, and a television show has to be an ongoing series. You have to use the monsters in a different way,” Hawley explained. “You certainly want to use them in the classic way, but you also have to figure out how to sustain having monsters in your show when the reality is they would kill everyone, or that you would kill them — and then that would be it.”
With that being said, Wendy’s rule over Neverland and her alliance with the xenomorphs may not last into Season 2.
If things fall apart, she may be forced to join forces with Boy Kavalier, the other synths, and Prodigy staff to stop the alien threat—including Arthur, the eye-inhabited creature who’s still lurking out there.
Who Will Return in Alien: Earth Season 2?

If Alien: Earth Season 2 happens, the surviving characters are expected to return to reprise their roles. This means Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, and Samuel Blenkin may all come back.
However, given the fates of Tootles and Siberian, fans may no longer see Kit Young and Diêm Camille.
David Rysdahl’s Arthur also died, but since he was inhabited by the alien eye creature, he could return in a new form in the potential second season.
As of now, there’s still no word on when Alien: Earth Season 2 might be released.
