The Acolyte fans are NOT surprised that the live-action series constantly references the entire Star Wars franchise. However, they may be wrong on one "easter egg": the unknown planet we see in episode 6 may not be Ahch-To, after all.

Could the "Unknown Planet" in The Acolyte Be Ahch-To?

Remember the planet where Luke Skywalker was in Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Well, fans surmised that the planet we saw in The Acolyte episode 6 Teach/Corrupt may be the same location.

Considering that both planets seemed like oceanic islands filled with familiar terrain and that the series merely calls it an "unknown planet", could it be the same area used in the franchise?

"It's not Ahch-To," The Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland clarified in a recent interview, adding that the planet featured in episode 6 was "intentionally supposed to be similar" with the terrain and the feeling of isolation.

"The idea is that cortosis is mined on this planet, so I don't think that's the case with Ahch-To," Headland explained further.

For the uninitiated, Qimir aka The Stranger's helmet is made out of cortosis, which makes sense as to why he would choose to retreat to the same planet while keeping Osha under his wing.

"Part of the reason this is [The Stranger]'s home base is that cortosis is a very rare metal," Headland said, "I don't think we say it explicitly in the show, but that's a reason it's not Ahch-To."

As for why The Acolyte chose to leave the unknown planet unnamed, Headland revealed it was also according to plan, "It's an uncharted planet that they haven't [mapped]."

And there you have it, folks. It would have made sense for Qimir to reside on the same planet where Luke Skywalker resided for his self-imposed exile.

However, since Qimir himself seems quite guilty of leaving his duty as a former Padawan of Vernestra Rwoh, the most that he could do was leave the site of the first Jedi Temple from his travels. Perhaps.
