Unbeknownst to Alya, her seatmate Kuze understands every Russian word she tells him whenever they’re teasing each other. But as the plot unfolds, will Alya find out Kuze understands Russian in Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian?

How Did Kuze Learn Russian in the First Place?

At first, Kuze had no intention of learning Russian until he met his first love—a beautiful half-Japanese and half-Russian girl with blonde hair and striking blue eyes.

While Kuze was able to understand and pick up some Russian words from his first love, he decided to learn Russian for real to talk to and impress her.

It’s a good thing Kuze’s paternal grandfather was a huge fan of Russian culture and their language.

He asked Kuze to watch more than 20 Russian movies, making it helpful for the young boy to pick up some Russian words.

Despite this, Kuze has never been to Russia with his grandfather to experience the country's rich culture.

At present, no one in school except for Yuki knows about his ability to speak and understand Russian.

This gives Alya the confidence to speak Russian in front of Kuze to express her real feelings for the young man, no matter how embarrassing it is.

Though Kuze can understand his beautiful seatmate, he is still too dense to realize Alya's affection for him.

Will Alya Find out Kuze Understands Russian? Here's What We Think

As of volume 8 of the Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian light novel, Alya has yet to find out that Kuze understands Russian, despite some close encounters.

They’re not even together at the moment, so a lot of things could happen from here on forward, which could open an opportunity for Alya to discover Kuze’s secret eventually.

Fans speculate they would get a confession scene in volume 9 or 10 of the light novel, where they will most likely express their feelings to one another, possibly including Kuze’s revelation that he understands Alya whenever she speaks Russian.

Most fans also believe that by the end of the romance comedy series, Alya will most likely find out the truth either through Kuze’s confession or through an unforeseen situation.

If the anime adaptation stays faithful to the light novel, then it’s certain that Alya will continue to assume Kuze doesn't understand her Russian sentiments.
