Sacchan’s identity in No Longer Allowed in Another World remains a mystery. Not much is known about her, which makes fans wonder who Sacchan really is and who she is inspired by.
Here’s what we know so far about Sensei’s partner and lover in the isekai anime.
Spoiler Warning: This article includes spoilers for the No Longer Allowed in Another World manga series, so proceed with caution.
Who Is Sacchan in No Longer Allowed in Another World?
Sacchan is the suicidal woman who was supposed to die by drowning with Sensei in the debut episode and the first chapter of No Longer Allowed in Another World.
The fandom page of the series lists Sacchan’s full name as Shizuko Oota, but no one, not even Sensei, has called her by her full name in the series thus far, leading to questions about her identity.
As of chapter 68, not much is known about Sacchan’s backstory, including her time with Sensei before they were isekai’d to another world, adding to the mystery behind her character.
What’s certain is that Sensei is looking for Sacchan to continue their plan to die by suicide by drowning in a man-eating river, leaving everything behind.
As the plot unfolds, Sacchan later appears as one of the seven fallen angels, representing the fallen angel of the sin of pride.
While she is still known as Sensei’s soulmate, Sacchan and Sensei now have different beliefs, resulting in a conflict in their relationship.
They are now adversaries, though Sacchan still considers Sensei to be the man she truly loves. She wants to stop Sensei from purifying the isekai world along with her newfound comrades.
Is Sacchan Based on Osamu Dazai’s Real-Life Lover? Predictions Explored
While fans think Sensei is inspired by the rogue writer Osamu Dazai, many connect Sacchan to the real-life Shizuko Oota, who was also a poet and known for being the lover and admirer of the infamous Dazai.
Historically, Dazai and Oota were in a relationship and even had a daughter named Haruko, until Osamu met Tomie Yamazaki, a beautician and war widow who became his new lover.
Instead of Oota dying by suicide with Dazai, it was Yamazaki who joined the writer in real life.
This story contradicts the main plot of No Longer Allowed in Another World, as Sensei is supposed to die by suicide with Sacchan, whom fans believe is inspired by Shizuko Oota.
