Fans are not the only ones pissed about The Umbrella Academy season 4 finale. One specific actor involved in the big romance plot twist shares the viewers' sentiments as the Netflix series wrapped up last week.

Fans are Not the Only Ones Disappointed with The Umbrella Academy S4
The Umbrella Academy fans are not taking the finale well — in a bad way. But they aren't the only ones.
Actor David Castañeda, who plays Diego in the show, is on board with them. Specifically on the most shocking romantic development season 4 conjured up in the nick of time.
It is worth mentioning that Five and Lila's romantic pursuit was one of the most unexpected moments in The Umbrella Academy finale. If anything, it came out of nowhere, except for that one time they had to work together despite their differences.
"No, I didn't understand. I was pissed off," Castañeda recently shared, trying to keep the tone light by joking about Diego surprisingly finding himself in a love triangle with his wife, Lila, and younger brother, Five.
Diego and Lila have been building their relationship since the first time they met in The Umbrella Academy season 2 and apart from the huge age gap between the actors and characters themselves, even Castañeda didn't understand the sudden change in the scripts of their fate.
"I was angry," the 34-year-old actor added, "I talked to [our showrunner] Steve [Blackman] a few times. I was like, 'Hey, does this really have to happen?'"
Blackman previously confirmed that he wanted to test the chemistry of complete opposites Five and Lila, considering that he has never experienced a serious love before and putting these two together felt 'right', given they had been stuck in the same timeline for over seven years.
Although their whirlwind romance happened in the blink of an eye in one episode out of their circumstances, it still irked fans at the development. Apart from their age gap, Diego and Lila showed no signs of drifting away from one another.
Unfortunately, fans didn't see Blackman's vision nor grew fond of Five and Lila, especially since the finale didn't give Diego and Five the proper send-off before meeting their doom at the end of it all.
