The mystery of how the twins, Osha and Mae, were conceived in the coven of witches has finally been unveiled in The Acolyte episode 7. Here's why the twins' "power of two" may be more powerful than we thought.
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains spoilers for The Acolyte episode 7, so proceed with caution.
Osha and Mae Are More Powerful Than We Initially Thought
How Osha and Mae were born was hinted at as early as The Acolyte episode 3 titled Destiny. The episode showed the twins' first childhood memories before they ended up getting separated.
At the time, Mother Aniseya and Mother Koril's argument heavily implied that the twins were not birthed by traditional, biological means. Aniseya "created" the twins through unknown means, while Koril "carried" them.
Well, episode 7 titled Choice just revealed the whole picture of how they were conceived in the first place.
According to what Torbin discovered, the twins are confirmed to be "force sensitive", possess the same symbionts, and were artificially created — all of which seem "impossible without some kind of manipulation".
Master Indara suggested they may have been created by "tapping into a power dense enough to split one consciousness into two bodies," with Sol concluding, "Only a vergence could create that type of power."
While it remains to be seen how Aniseya could have manifested great powers enough to bring them to life, this revelation could imply that Osha and Mae are formidable forces they have yet to unearth.
Could Mother Aniseya and Koril be working for the Sith Lords? What could happen to the twins once they unlock their true potential? We would have to wait and find out once the next episode airs.
