The Acolyte's first Season is almost over, and things heated up in Episode 7. Nerdist interviewed showrunner Leslye Headland and discussed several things that could happen in the season finale.
With the series’ first season at an end, a second season is being eyed by the producers, and Headland wants to tell the story of Palpatine and Plagueis this time around.
During an interview with the Nerdist, Leslye Headland mentioned that she has plans for telling the story of Palpatine’s training under Darth Plagueis. The Acolyte has shown how users of the dark side mentor one another, as with Mae and Qimir. The Acolyte Season 2 will hopefully delve into one of the most tragic stories in Sith's history.
Obsessed with this pursuit of immortality, Darth Plagueis focused on controlling the dark side to prolong his life. He conducted experiments along with his student, Darth Sidious. Eventually, Plagueis was consumed by this and met his end at the hands of his student. It’ll be interesting to witness this in live-action should Acolyte Season 2 push through.
With an interesting first season, The Acolyte shows Star Wars fans how the Jedi worked during the tail end of the High Republic era and plans to bring it all together in the season finale. As of writing, there is no news as to whether the Star Wars TV show will receive a second season, but Leslye Headland mentioned that there have been conversations about it. The Acolyte has had a few controversies, but time will tell whether we’ll have another season. And if Season 2 is happening, it is almost guaranteed that we will finally see the tale of Darth Plagueis the Wise.
