"I would still want to do it!" the showrunner said. "Absolutely. As more people discover it, I think people may want to see some form of the story come back."
Headland went on to share the storylines she was planning for the second season, including connecting the lore of the High Republic era to the sequel trilogy.
"We did have a lot of stuff that we wanted to explore, including tying in lore to the sequels. Getting into who exactly Manny [Jacinto]’s character is, his connection with [Jedi Master] Vernestra, his connection with [Sith Lord] Plagueis, and then his connection with other sequel-established things," she revealed.
The showrunner also reflected on the "resurgence" that she's been experiencing with the series, as fans continue to express their appreciation to her.
"I’m having a resurgence of The Acolyte in my real life," she said. "I speak with people who are really big fans and were disappointed in the cancellation. was like, I went to a play last night, and somebody said, ‘I just have to tell you that I loved it.'"
To this day, Lucasfilm has not hinted at any plans to resurrect The Acolyte, despite the ongoing clamoring from fans.

On the television side, fans can look forward to the release of the second season of Ahsoka. It is currently slated to premiere on Disney+ in early 2027. The main cast from the first season is set to return.
