The Acolyte had an interesting set of characters, from Force-using witches to Wookie Jedi. It is also the first live-action series to be set in the High Republic era, thus had the opportunity to showcase more of the Jedi and tackled a bit of what the Sith has been planning ever since. With a myriad of intriguing characters, we’ve ranked the notable characters in The Acolyte.

Jecki Lon (Dafne Keen)

Jecki Lon, who is portrayed by Dafne Keen, is an interesting character from The Acolyte. Despite her awkwardness as a young padawan, she kept her calm and was mature for her age, even joining the mission in Khofar along with Yord, Osha, and Sol. Jecki was also a skilled fighter, showcasing her expertise in Jar'Kai - a combat style utilizing two weapons in combat. She was also brave and was able to go toe-to-toe with Qimir, ending in her demise.

She is a relatable young character whose narrative arc isn’t deep enough compared to the main protagonists.

Mother Koril (Margarita Levieva)

Played by Margarita Levieva, Mother Koril was instrumental in how the events in The Acolyte happened. She was strict and protective of the twins and oftentimes disagreed with Mother Aniseya on how they raised Osha and Mae. While she has great command over the Force, which the coven refers to as The Thread, she isn’t an adept combatant.

Mother Korl’s mysterious nature and manipulative tactics position her as a formidable presence in the series. While not as central as the primary antagonists, her influence on the plot is significant, providing a mystical and dark counterbalance to the Jedi's light.

Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo)

Joonas Suotamo plays Kelnacca, the latest Wookie Jedi to appear in Star Wars canon. It is uncommon for Wookies to be Force-sensitive, and Kelnacca is a refreshing addition to the growing list of Jedi Wookies in Star Wars. Kelnacca has a warm and protective nature, and his willingness to banish himself because of something he unwillingly did adds depth to his character, making him stand out from the rest of the characters.

Mother Aniseya (Jodie Turner-Smith)

Portrayed by Jodie Turner-Smith, Mother Aniseya is a powerful leader of witches who can command the Force. Her ambiguity and the question of where her loyalty lies kept viewers and fans guessing during the first half of the series. Turner-Smith's performance, coupled with the character's significant influence on the plot, makes Mother Aniseya one of the most intriguing characters in The Acolyte.

Qimir / The Stranger (Manny Jacinto)

Qimir is a compelling antagonist who elevates the series whenever he comes on-screen. His dual identity kept viewers wondering what would happen next, and his hidden motives were slowly and perfectly unraveled throughout the series. His scenes with Sol put so much weight into the master-pupil dynamic that both of them perfectly contrast each other.

The lightsaber fights are well-choreographed as well. Manny Jacinto did a great job portraying a sinister Sith and his performance adds complexity to Qimir, making him a compelling antagonist whose motives and actions drive much of the plot's tension.

Master Sol (Lee Jung-Jae)

Lee Jung-Jae's Master Sol is a Jedi Master dedicated to uncovering the truth. His protective nature towards Osha and his methodical investigation into the murder mystery highlight his strong moral compass and deep sense of duty. Many fans find him similar to Qui-Gon, with a few hints of traits from Obi-Wan as well. Sol isn’t perfect as Osha’s master, but Lee Jung-Jae's performance perfectly elevates the character.

His contrast with Qimir is wonderfully contrasted each time they go on a scene together. The ruthlessness of Qimir pitted against Sol’s justified moral compass is a treat to The Acolyte fans. Master Sol's character also provides a steady and reassuring presence amidst the series' darker themes.

Osha and Mae (Amandla Stenberg)

Osha and Mae, both portrayed by Amandla Stenberg in The Acolyte, are its most prominent characters. They are the people who bring alive the main story of the series. The sisters’ complex feelings for each other combined with Amandla’s brilliant performance make them the most entertaining as well as ever-changing players in the series. In terms of emotional and skilled acting, Osha and Mae are number one on this list.

The Acolyte had an interesting take on how things happened during the High Republic era and has a fascinating set of well-casted characters. Whether through their moral ambiguity, unique backgrounds, or intricate relationships, these characters create a compelling and multifaceted story that keeps viewers engaged from start to finish.
