The Acolyte has shown a glimpse of what’s happening during the High Republic era, a time when Jedi were at their peak and were considered to be most powerful by becoming keepers of peace and doing missions as space cops and temple guards. Now that Star Wars has shown the High Republic on-screen, it is time to explore other eras within the Star Wars official timeline.
Dawn Of The Jedi Era - Eons to 25,025 BBY
This is the era when the Jedi was founded by the Prime Jedi, an individual who first used The Force. Nothing much is known about the dawn of the Jedi, except that the first Jedi Temple was built by Prime Jedi on the planet Ahch-to, the same planet where Luke Skywalker spent his exile and trained Rey. Star Wars can explore more on this era by focusing on The Force itself, midi-chlorians in the Wellspring of Life, and how this discovery led to the Prime Jedi’s use of the Force.
Earlier Old Republic Era - 25,000 BBY to 5,000 BBY
While there is already an MMO named after the Old Republic Star Wars era, it would be best if Star Wars will also explore more of this era on-screen. This is when the Galactic Republic was formed by planets around the Galactic Core. The Old Republic was also the time when the division between Jedi started to give birth to the Sith. Certain notable places such as the Temple Of Kyber and Sith temples were built during this era. This is also when the Sith Empire was established.
New Jedi Order/Post-Skywalker Saga Era
Jedi Master Rey Skywalker builds a new Jedi Order during this era. Now free of Sith, the New Jedi Order now aims to maintain peace within the galaxy. Disney and Star Wars can continue Rey’s story here and develop how the lore continues from this era.
The possibilities are endless, from Jedi slowly growing again in population just like in the High Republic era to the birth of a new enemy. The story of the Sith can also be further developed during this era, just like how the saying “where there is light, there’ll be shadows” goes. Surely, there must be something bigger that can threaten what Rey tried to build.
Among the eras mentioned, this one is confirmed to be explored via Daisy Ridley's comeback project which is said to be eyeing a 2026 release. As of writing, key details about the film have yet to be disclosed.
