Already loved by comic fans, Miles Morales debuted on the big screen through an animated adaptation, which made more fans fond of the Afro-Latino Spider-Man variant. However, the Brooklyn native has yet to make a live-action debut and is in need of an actor who will bring the character to life. Shameik Moore, who voiced the character in the animated movie, said in a new interview that he's the perfect person for the job.
In an interview with Empire, Moore went on to discuss the striking resemblance he bears to Miles Morales and expressed his interest in reprising his role in a live-action film. “I feel like everyone knows I would be a great [live-action] Miles Morales,” he said. “As I left the theater after that [Spider-Man: No Way Home] premiere, Jamie Foxx looked at me like… he knew. I think Tom Holland knows, too.” However, the actor admitted his age plays a factor for him to get considered. “It just depends on how old they want Miles to be by the time they're ready to do a live-action movie,” he said. “That's the conundrum with whether or not I end up playing him.”

After Peter Parker passed away in Marvel Comics' Ultimate Universe, Miles Morales made his debut in 2011's Ultimate Fallout #4. Miles is often shown as a teenager; Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse showed him to be 14 or 15 years old, while the Spider-Man game for the PlayStation 4 and its spinoff sequel, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, showed him to be 17 years old. Sony and Marvel Studios would need to age up the character if they wanted to keep Moore in the part because, at 27, he may be too old to play the teenager Spidey in a live-action project. Despite getting mentioned in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel Studios has yet to include Miles in the MCU.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be followed by a sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, whose official synopsis states, "But as the heroes fight on how to tackle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most." The third and final installment of the story, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is slated for a 2012 release.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters on June 2.
