During the D23 event, Disney unveiled the first look at Robert Downey Jr.'s return as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Disney California Adventure ride Avengers: Infinity Defense. It is set to debut in 2028.
They shared a glimpse of the footage that the Oscar winner shot for the ride as the fan-favorite MCU hero. You can check the sneak peek here:
"Welcome to Avengers Campus. We built this place to recruit, inspire the next generation of heroes. You’re a big part of that mission," Downey said in the footage.
Aside from Downey, Chris Hemsworth (as Thor), Anthony Mackie (as Captain America), Jeremy Renner (as Hawkeye), and Iman Vellani (as Ms. Marvel) will also make appearances in the ride. They were also part of the sneak peek footage.
Downey's Tony Stark will also be part of another Avengers ride, Stark Flight Lab, which is set to open at Disney California Adventure in 2028. He is also reprising his iconic role for the attraction.
He will be joined by Anthony Mackie, who is also reprising the role of Captain America, and Brie Larson, who is reprising her iconic role as Captain Marvel.
For now, fans can anticipate Downey's long-awaited MCU return in Avengers: Doomsday, where he will be playing Doctor Doom, instead of the iconic hero.
