Sebastian Stan recently addressed the criticisms that the MCU has been receiving for the last few years.

The franchise has been receiving mixed reactions for its film and TV output in recent years as fans felt that they've been releasing too many projects and the quality has not been the same as the Infinity Saga installments.

Marvel Studios has been working to address their recent issues as they have changed their release strategy for their films and TV shows and are more focused again on quality rather than quantity.

In a recent interview, Stan weighed in on the criticisms that the MCU has been receiving for the last few years.

While he respected the opinions of those who were not in favor of the franchise, he argued that their successes are important to the entertainment business.

"It’s become really convenient to pick on [Marvel films]. And that’s fine. Everyone’s got an opinion. But they’re a big part of what contributes to this business and allows us to have smaller movies as well," the actor said.

"This is an artery traveling through the system of this entire machinery that’s Hollywood. It feeds in so many more ways than people acknowledge. Sometimes I get protective of it because the intention is really f*cking good. It’s just f*cking hard to make a good movie over and over again."

Stan also praised Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige for still being a "selfless" leader despite the enormous success that the MCU has been getting.

"I’m someone who has witnessed Kevin Feige as the most selfless man on this planet. who, despite the enormous success he’s had, has never changed or wavered," he added.

"They legitimately spend so much time thinking, how could we surprise people and give people something different? His big motto is ‘The best idea wins.’ It just comes from a good place — and that’s the only reason why sometimes I get protective of it. Because the intention is really good."

The actor made some good remarks since he knows how the Marvel system works and has a different perspective from the public regarding the actual process of making an MCU film that we won't simply understand.

With the success of Deadpool & Wolverine, it's been proven that the MCU has not lost its way and can still rebound despite the backlash, box office disappointments, and criticisms it's been getting.

Stan will be seen next in the upcoming MCU film Thunderbolts* which is set to arrive in theaters on May 2, 2025.
