The new MCU movie Thunderbolts* is finally arriving in theaters next week, and you might be hyped to see it just like many Marvel fans or audiences who have been hearing the positive word-of-mouth.
The film focuses on an unconventional team of antiheroes consisting of fan-favorite MCU characters as they must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts.
Here are the five things you should know about Thunderbolts* before watching the movie.
The Ensemble Consists of Fan-Favorite MCU Stars
As you may already know, the main cast consists of fan-favorites who have appeared in past MCU movies and TV shows, such as Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Wyatt Russell (US Agent), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Olga Kurylenko (Taskmaster), and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Val).
They are also joined by MCU newcomers Lewis Pullman (Bob/Sentry), Geraldine Viswanathan (Mel), and Wendell Pierce.

Sentry Makes His MCU Debut
Sentry is finally making his MCU debut in Thunderbolts*, with Lewis Pullman taking on the role. He is seemingly being set up as the antagonist that the titular team will face.
For years, it's been heavily rumored that Sentry is being introduced in the new film, and the marketing campaign was also trying to conceal the identity of Pullman's "Bob" as the fan-favorite character.
A24 Creatives Are Involved
One of the interesting aspects about the making of Thunderbolts* is the director, writer, and department heads' A24 connection, as all of them have worked in an A24 project before.
While it remains to be seen whether the film really has the style of an A24 movie, the marketing has touted its connection in one of the trailers that they released. Even Florence Pugh has teased that it's an "A24-feeling assassin movie with Marvel superheroes"
Potential Set-Up for Avengers: Doomsday
We already know that most of the main cast of Thunderbolts* are going to be seen again next year in Avengers: Doomsday.
The new film will likely give teases or set-ups about the events that we will see in Doomsday, whether it's in the ending or the post-credits scene. This could end up being an essential watch.
Early Reactions Already Hailed as a Return to Form
If you are looking for the number one reason to get excited for Thunderbolts*, it's the first wave of social media reactions that have been posted online following the early screenings earlier this week.
A lot of them are already touting the film as a return to form for the MCU and one of their best in recent years. This is an encouraging sign for those who are looking forward to seeing the film or those who are on the fence about whether they should see it in the theater.
