Six episodes in and fans are still surprisingly divided over the anime series adaptation of Sakamoto Days as the first season is currently airing.

The series was one of the highly-anticipated anime releases this year due to the popularity of its source material. However, the trailers and promos drew mixed reactions as fans questioned its animation style and whether it would be able to live up to the manga.

Sakamoto Days Fans Suggest Anime Series Should Get a Remake

As the first season of Sakamoto Days is currently airing, fans online weigh in on what they think of the episodes that have aired so far.

Despite the show's major viewership success, it is still divisive among fans and some of them even suggested that the series should get a remake similar to Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

It has also become a subject of discussion among the Sakamoto Days fan community on Reddit as they all weigh in as well on whether the anime series should have a remake.

So far, the creative team has not commented on the show's divisive reactions so far and whether they will address it in a potential second season.

What is Sakamoto Days About?

Sakamoto Days tells the story of the ultimate assassin, Taro Sakamoto, who is feared by villains and admired by other hitmen. One day, he falls in love and out of shape, preoccupied with marriage, retirement, and fatherhood.

Despite that, he’s still armed with superhuman skill and strength, and during extreme situations, he loses his extra weight and gains twice the power he had before.

When his past catches up, Sakamoto must embrace his previous life again and work with his comrades to protect his family from the looming bands of assassins.

The first season is being split into two parts with Part 2 currently slated to air in July later this year.
