As Taro Sakamoto navigates a world that refuses to let him retire peacefully, readers are treated to some of Sakamoto Days' most epic fight scenes. Each conflict brings something unique to the table, ranging from creative uses of everyday objects to intense psychological battles.

The fights in Sakamoto Days are more than just action scenes; they are integral to the plot, character development, and the overall appeal of the series to the readers.

With the announcement of the Sakamoto Days anime adaptation, fans are eager to see the following fight sequences brought to life.

Spoiler Warning: This article includes spoilers for the Sakamoto Days manga, so proceed with caution.

  1. Shishiba vs Yotsumura

Shishiba’s claw hammers meet Yotsumura’s bladed three-section staff during the JCC Infiltration Arc, where we saw Shishiba fighting against his former mentor, Yotsumura, who was once known as the top two assassins in the JAA.

It was an emotional fight, as Yotsumura’s backstory was shown, which also showed bits of Shishiba’s part in his life.

From fighting through the channel of rebirth to a Noh performance, Shishiba and Yotsumura’s showdown is both creative and imaginative.

Yotsumura thinks that Shishiba is blaming him for the chief’s death after he chose his family, but Shishiba couldn’t care less, since he’s good so long as he can live in a world that’s tidier than the day before.

After Shishiba used one of his claw hammers as a mirror, he was able to land a fatal injury on Yotsumura, saying that he had enough and that he was tired of trying to find a reason to kill him.

  2. Sakamoto vs Boiled

Boiled, a relentless hitman with a penchant for explosives, provides a tough challenge for Sakamoto during his family’s trip to Sugar Park.

Armed with super ball bombs and rocket dynamite punches, Boiled attacks Sakamoto with everything he has to remind him of their history together.

Back in the day, Boiled looked up to Sakamoto not only for his unrivaled assassination skills but also for his charisma toward women.

He envied Sakamoto for having everything that he lacked, which explains his disgusted reaction when he saw the current Sakamoto.

However, Sakamoto starts to go all out, with only one thing on his mind: protecting his family.

He began fighting Boiled for real, punching and kicking him one after another until both of them crashed inside the running Ferris wheel.

Sakamoto proves that he’s still the epitome of hard-boiled, but the only thing that’s different now is that he’s using his strength to protect his family and not to kill people.

  3. Takamura vs Sakamoto

Following an emergency JAA announcement, Sakamoto becomes a class-A extermination target for old man Takamura, who we all know by now might be the strongest character in Sakamoto Days.

Takamura is bad news for Sakamoto since he can overwhelm him, not to mention kill him in sight.

Sakamoto tried to deal with Takamura alone, reverting to his thin form as quickly as possible to land some kicks on the old man.

He sent him flying, but Takamura jumped back on the battlefield right away, as if nothing happened.

They exchanged blows, shaking the entire museum in the process, but Sakamoto admits that Takamura is way stronger compared to when he was still in the Order.

Sakamoto aimed at stopping Takamura from unsheathing his katana, but he couldn’t do anything about it at all.

He used a signpost, a metal beam, and even a gun to attack Takamura, but to no avail.

  4. Sakamoto vs Shinaya

Sakamoto Days chapter 71 features the showdown between Sakamoto and Shinaya, with the latter controlled remotely by Gaku during the JCC exams.

Since Gaku has always wanted to fight Sakamoto, he pushed Shinaya to fight the legendary hitman once and for all.

They not only fought within the wrecked plane, but they also punched each other as the groundwater current drew them in.

It was interesting how Sakamoto used luggage to attack Shinaya, not to mention seatbelts on him to keep him at bay. He even used a passport to smack Shinaya in the face!

Before their fight ends, Sakamoto detaches a plane's landing gear and hits Shinaya, breaking the latter's contact with Gaku.

  5. Nagumo vs Gaku

  6. Osaragi vs Geisha

Have you seen a geisha firing bullets from her umbrella while riding a speeding bus? Well, in chapter 98, Osaragi is the target of an attractive geisha while riding in a rickshaw.

In a fit of rage, Osaragi attacks the geisha with her buzzsaw, but the latter is quick enough to avoid, despite the fact that she was busy scolding a tourist who was interested in taking pictures of her.

While Osaragi wishes to heed Shishiba's advice to avoid causing a disturbance in the city while fighting, she is unable to do so due to the geisha's unusual tactics.

They even barged into a brothel, where Osaragi demonstrated to the Geisha that she is an enormous wild beast with great strength.

The Geisha tried to escape, but Osaragi pulled her back, slashing the Geisha’s neck underneath the kimono.

  7. Takamura vs Gaku

A bad grandfather showed up and overwhelmed Gaku in chapter 52. No one informed Gaku that a monstrous old man could block and destroy his mace, cut his fingers, and even one of his ears by using a katana!

Takamura didn’t stop there, as he also cut Gaku’s arm easily. He even blitzed through some of the opponents, not allowing them to use their weapons at all.

His appearance on the battlefield changed the momentum of Gaku and his allies, forcing them to stand back and retreat from the fight.

  8. Shin vs Tatsu

Shin is working overtime to cover for Sakamoto’s day off with his family when Tatsu arrives in an attempt to kill the legendary hitman.

Tatsu is not that strong compared to the other fighters mentioned on our list, but his fight with Shin took us on a roller-coaster ride.

Literally, Shin fought Tatsu while they were both on a roller coaster. They even brought their fight to a children’s show where Shin had to wear the bunny costume to prevent Tatsu from anticipating his moves.

It was a fun fight, which we’re hoping to see in the early episodes of the upcoming anime.

  9. Lu vs Obiguro

During the Amusement Park Arc, Lu got drunk, leading to some of the funniest moments in the series. She said she drank a traditional Chinese medicine that wards off evil spirits, but Shin knew that it was just booze.

That’s when Obiguro made an appearance, along with Boiled. She decided to take on both Lu and Shin, while Boiled dealt with Sakamoto.

Because Lu was drunk, her moves were unpredictable. She prevented Obiguro’s underlings from cutting Shin with a chainsaw over and over again by making contact with Obiguro every 10 seconds in ways unimaginable.

  10. Sakamoto and Shin vs Heisuke Mashimo

Heisuke Mashimo is a highly capable sniper, despite being an airhead. He has a lot of dreams in life, wanting to become a good assassin capable of helping his comrades to the best of his abilities.

However, Heisuke’s abilities were ignored and he was fired from the job. The next thing he knew, he wanted to kill Sakamoto to get the huge bounty on his head.

They started off as allies in the airsoft tournament, but not until Lu intervened, which made Heisuke realize that his ally was his target.

With Piisuke’s help, Heisuke was able to fire a ricochet shot at Sakamoto, but the latter was able to dodge it.

It was impressive, though, as Heisuke has unrivaled sniping and shooting abilities, making him a formidable opponent.
