Sakamoto Days is full of strong characters with unique strengths and abilities. From the unrivaled combat skills of old man Takamura to the bladed staff-wielding assassin Yotsumura, here are the strongest characters in Sakamoto Days.

As usual, a list like this is subjective, so feel free to drop your own rankings in the comments below.

Spoiler Warning: This article contains spoilers from the Sakamoto Days manga series, so proceed with caution.

  1. Takamura

Don’t be fooled by his elderly appearance, as Takamura can slash anything, be it a tower or a building, as soon as he unsheathes his sword.

He is often compared to prime Sakamoto, but he tops our list due to his mind-blowing feats as well as the reputation he holds in the series, which made the Order respect and acknowledge him the most.

In Takamura's fight with Gaku, he not only casually blocks Gaku’s attacks with one arm, but he also cuts the latter’s hand, fingers, and ears!

As of chapter 164, it’s clear that Takamura is the strongest character in the series, as he made a joke out of Sakamoto, Nagumo, and Uzuki in their three vs. one fight.

He is also the only character on our list capable of forcing Sakamoto to revert to his thin form instantly, which speaks a lot about his combat strength.

  2. Prime Taro Sakamoto

Prime Taro Sakamoto was hailed as the strongest assassin of all time in Sakamoto Days.

We still haven’t seen his full strength in the manga series, but it’s implied that Sakamoto’s prime self is on equal terms, perhaps even stronger than old man Takamura.

In the most recent chapters, Sakamoto’s performance against Takamura shows how formidable an opponent he can be.

He not only sent Takamura flying with a single kick but he also evaded the old man’s multiple slashes, which are incredibly difficult to accomplish in the face of such a strong opponent.

We’re hoping that we’ll get some chapters showcasing Prime Taro Sakamoto’s combat prowess at some point in the future to get a bigger picture of his outstanding abilities.

  3. Kei Uzuki

Kei Uzuki’s abilities are nothing short of extraordinary. He slaughtered one-fourth of the assassin industry in cold blood, leaving only an X mark on the murder scene, thus earning the nickname X.

His reckless actions put him on the radar of the Order, and his extremely nonchalant expressions gave his opponents goosebumps.

He is a master combatant who can move at extreme speed—so fast that even the legendary hitman was caught off guard by his attacks.

Sakamoto may have defeated him in the past, but now Uzuki emerges as one of the strongest in the series, even stronger than the members of the Order.

  4. Nagumo

Nagumo is yet another member of the Order known for using his combat wit to his advantage. He is a master tactician, an incredibly smart fighter who can disguise himself to pretty much anyone he wants to in an instant.

Similar to Sakamoto, Nagumo has the potential to lead the future of the assassins thanks to his combat expertise.

Even Kei Uzuki acknowledges Nagumo as one of the top two fighters of the Order, while Granny Miya believes that he is now stronger than retired Sakamoto.

In addition to Nagumo being a master of disguise, he is also a deadly combatant who wields bladed weapons and firearms. He also has no problem fighting with no weapons at his disposal.

  5. Shishiba

Shishiba, as a member of the Order, is already one of Sakamoto Days' deadliest assassins. He is Sakamoto's old friend and Osaragi's mentor, teaching her the ways of assassins, including how to kill and live.

Like Sakamoto, he can easily kill his target by snapping and twisting their necks without their knowledge. In addition, he wields claw hammers for both attacking and defensive purposes, making him more difficult to defeat.

He was even able to twist Kashima’s neck in battle and even defeat his mentor, Yotsumura.

During Shishiba’s fight with Yotsumura in the JCC Infiltration Arc, he was able to deflect hits from his opponent's bladed staff, which could overturn cars and slash steel beams!

  6. Gaku

Gaku is an absolute force to be reckoned with in Sakamoto Days. Some even rank him lower than Takamura because he was one of the few to survive the confrontation with the old man. He went toe to toe with Takamura, even though it’s clear as day that he’s no match for him.

On the contrary, Gaku is so strong that he can destroy an entire branch of the Japanese Association of Assassins (JAA), punching holes through his opponents one by one with ease.

Even Nagumo has to acknowledge Gaku, saying that he is the strongest opponent he has ever faced during the Assassin Exhibition of the Century Arc.

Gaku is also known for wielding a large mace that resembles a meat tenderizer, though he can use any weapon without problems at all.

  7. Satoru Yotsumura

Yotsumura is a former founding member of the Order and the former number two assassin of JAA.

He was also the mentor of Shishiba, who defeated him during the JCC Infiltration Arc.

After he was banished by the JAA, Yotsumura decided to fight against the organization.

Yotsumura is incredibly powerful; he can fight with three assassins at once for a while.

Despite his old age, Yotsumura can parry blows from Shishiba, Nagumo, and Osaragi, which speaks about his overall strength.

His main weapon is a bladed three-section staff that is extremely sharp; it can cut through a human’s body easily.
