Ryan Reynolds rose to fame (or infamy) before he sported the Merc's bloody red suit in Marvel. However, in a recent interview with Deadpool and Wolverine co-star Hugh Jackman, Reynolds forgot the other comic book movie he starred in before joining the MCU.
Deadpool Star Ryan Reynolds Forgot Where He Met His Wife Blake Lively in the First Place
In a recent interview with MTV UK, Deadpool and Wolverine co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have to play the 'Who Even Am I?' game, where they have to guess which of their current co-stars are on the opposing player's card.
While playing the game, Reynolds is supposed to guess which actress is on his co-star's card. In this case, it was his wife, Blake Lively. Two of Jackman's clues happened to be, an "Unforgettable co-star" in a "comic book movie."
"I am going to hell," Evidently, Reynolds was still having a hard time figuring out the answer and exclaimed, "You could not have found a worse participant for this game right now."
The only hint that pushed the right answer to Reynolds came from Jackman's last clue, "If she could have her way, she'd have 12 children", which reminded the former about his wife and where they met, on the set of Green Lantern.
"Green Lantern. I was in Green Lantern," it sunk into Reynolds, before hilariously adding, "I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to never remember that."
And in a way, he wasn't wrong about the 'overspending' bit, considering that that was one of the many reasons he previously mentioned why his DC flick "didn't work."
He explained that they focused on "too much spending" on special effects rather than putting the work in developing the main hero's story.
Unlike in the first Deadpool movie of the Marvel franchise, where he revealed his major financial sacrifice to make the film come to fruition on the big screens.
To Reynolds, "We wanted just enough money to make what we set out to make, but also find ways to creatively pivot."
Green Lantern grossed $220M on a production budget of $200M, and yet the Deadpool debut film grossed over $780M worldwide out of a budget of $58M. Go figure.
If it hadn't been for the tough decision on the 2016 anti-hero flick, we probably wouldn't have ended up seeing Deadpool and Wolverine unite on the big screens this year.
