It looks like Robert Downey Jr sure loves Chris Evans in a non-platonic way, as the actor just shared a heartwarming image of Captain America and Iron Man on Twitter. He points out how best friends would lend each other their umbrellas during stormy weather while the image has Captain America shielding Iron Man from a rain of bullets.
Not like Iron Man needs it. Pretty sure his armor can protect him from all of those bullets unless they're actually from alien weapons. Still, it's a sweet image but Tony totally didn't need the protection.
Well, they'll need some protection if the shippers get their way but let's not give people any ideas.
Anyway, the post has won over people's hearts because celebrities are way more important than us normies and a sweet gesture from them is immediately worth reposting. Cynicism aside, it's still a nice post and we can only hope Evans replies with something sweeter.
Though Evans and Downey Jr are good friends, the same can't be said for Steve and Tony after Captain America: Civil War. The two had a falling out thanks to Bucky and they haven't talked since, though Tony did want to call him when Thanos arrived. Avengers: Endgame will reunite the duo, but we can only assume that things won't be great at first.
Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26.
