Production for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series is in a state of flux with no new updates in terms of its script and filming start date. Back in April, the Star Wars series recruited King Arthur: Legend of the Sword writer Joby Harold following Hossein Amini's departure from the project. Production was expected to begin in August of this year, but the show seems to still be hitting speed bumps along the way. Last month, director Deborah Chow confirmed that the Kenobi show is still in development but news has been scarce since then. Now, a new rumor suggests that the Star Wars series finally has a new filming start date.

According to The Illuminerdi, production for the Obi-Wan Kenobi show is set to start in March 2021 in Los Angeles. Lead actor Ewan McGregor previously mentioned that they'll start shooting in January next year, but this report claims otherwise. That said, the actor thinks regardless of the shift in the filming start date, the show's release date won't get affected. Should this new rumor be true, it's unclear whether its debut will still remain as planned.

The outlet also noted that The Volume, the virtual filming environment used heavily for The Mandalorian, will play a "big role in shaping" the upcoming Kenobi series.

Aside from the few hiccups, plot details about the series remain scarce and its yet to have a release date, but fans are holding out hope that things will eventually go smoothly for the upcoming Disney+ show.
