The MCU doesn't plan on leaving fans with Guardians of the Galaxy as their only favorite group of misfits as the franchise confirmed Thunderbolts is already in the making as early as D23 2022!

Marvel's Thunderbolts Potential Release Date
During San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Marvel President Kevin Feige confirmed that the last installment for Marvel Phase 5 was Thunderbolts.
At the time, the flick was supposedly slated for a July 26, 2024 release (which was taken by Deadpool and Wolverine) and began filming in June 2023. But thanks to the writers and actors strike, the principal photography had to be moved.
As of writing, Thunderbolts is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 5, 2025, which places it between Captain America: Brave New World (February 14, 2025) and The Fantastic Four (July 25, 2025).
Confirmed Thunderbolts Cast As of 2024
As early as D23 2022, the cast behind Marvel's Thunderbolts included Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, David Harbour's Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell's John Walker, Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier as the main team.
In addition, we also get to see Olga Kurylenko's Taskmaster and Hannah John-Kamen reprise her Ant-Man and the Wasp villainous role as Ava Starr aka Ghost.
Recent news includes the San Diego Comic-Con 2024, where Lewis Pullman revealed more about his Thunderbolts character, Robert Reynolds.
Considering that the MCU film already sparked rumors about Sentry's live-action appearance, Pullman's confirmation of his character pretty much shows Thunderbolts may be featuring the Soldier Supreme, after all.
Other Updates Fans Ought To Know About Thunderbolts
2024 San Diego Comic-Congoers got to watch their exclusive footage of Marvel's Thunderbolts. As expected, Thunderbolts centers bringing these unlikely anti-heroes together to team up.
The team sheds light on Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine recruiting the members while also showcasing Yelena, Bucky, and John Walker aka the US agent having their own individual stories to resolve in the anticipated flick.
Yelena recruits her "father" Aleksei aka Red Guardian, Bucky Barnes was seen in Congress, and nothing much has been revealed about the Walker's kid's involvement.
However, the sneak peek managed to tease fans with a potential battle among all the members of Thunderbolts before they could resonate as a team (as much as superhero movies go).
