Marvel Legend Stan Lee Gets A New York City Bronx Street Named After Him

It looks like New York City has found a pretty epic way of honoring Stan Lee.

According to a report by CBR, the New York City Council has just approved naming a Bronx street after Marvel comic book legend Stan Lee, co-naming the University Avenue between Brandt Place and West 176th Street the "Stan Lee Way."

The New York City Council started voting on the proposal on Tuesday, and it seems like the petitioners have won the vote because the Bronx street is now officially co-named after Stan the Man.

For those who aren't that familiar with Lee's biography, University Avenue played a large role in the comic book writer's life. The pop culture icon grew up on the street, his home being at 1720 University Place. Lee even went to a nearby high school at DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx.

It only seems fitting that the New York City Council would approve having the University Avenue co-named the "Stan Lee Way."

Lee has been a major figure, not only in the comic book industry but in pop culture as well. Not only did Stan the Man create iconic comic book characters like Spider-man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and The Incredible Hulk, but he also helped in building the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in multiple films and television series. Lee even had an influence on DC, reimagining the DC trinity in the "Just Imagine" comic book series. He even had made a quick appearance in one DC movie, Teen Titans Go! To The Movies.

The comic book writer's contribution to the comic book industry is immeasurable. It's only right to see a street being named after Lee.
