Shang-Chi Lead Geeks Out After Photo with Benedict Cumberbatch

Marvel is set to introduce some new heroes for Phase 4, and one of them is Simu Liu's Shang-Chi. Liu has since been celebrating his casting online, and he recently shared this photo of him during the panel next to Doctor Strange's Benedict Cumberbatch.

I think it's safe to say that Liu was every Marvel fan if they ever got a chance to have a photo with the Sorcerer Supreme:

It's worth noting that both Shang-Chi and Doctor Strange 2 are set to come out in the same year, and with Shang-Chi's premise dealing with magic (the Ten Rings), it's likely that a post-credits scene could be a teaser for Multiverse of Madness.

Personally, I'm excited to see how Marvel Studios plans to incorporate the real Ten Rings into the MCU. They had to modernize it for the first Iron Man by making them a terrorist group, and I was on board for the reinterpretation that he was some kind of religious leader in Iron Man 3. Of course, it turned out that the Mandarin was fake, but it wasn't really addressed who really was behind the Ten Rings terrorist group.

Personally, I just hope they manage to get Ben Kingsley back for Trevor. He was still fun to watch, and after the short All Hail the King, I want to see what the Ten Rings did to him after they busted him out of prison.

Catch Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings when it comes out Feb. 12, 2021.
