Joker: Folie à Deux's Twisted Ending Has Been Leaked and DC Fans Are Not Happy About It
Joker: Folie à Deux director Todd Phillips has previously opened up about his decision to end Arthur Fleck's journey with the sequel.
However, considering how the sequel was made possible in the first place, fans were quite skeptical about it.
According to the helmer, his tease about the ending of Joker 2 would "hopefully answer all questions" fans had about the first flick, which likely involves Arthur Fleck's backstory. Phillips leans on the fact that the "unsettling" ending would give fans a minute to process the movie.
Unfortunately, before the official premiere of Joker: Folie à Deux, an anonymous source leaked the ending and fans were already divisive over the highly anticipated curtain call for the franchise.
Before we unveil the mystery ending, check out some of the fans' reactions after finding out what happens to Arthur Fleck in this story:
According to leaked sources, the supposed 'explosive' ending in the courtroom is not what kills Arthur Fleck. If anything, it was a scripted distraction so he could escape and run away with Lady Gaga's 'Lee,'
But that doesn't work for him either when Lee discovers that Arthur is not the Joker she fell in love with. Upon realizing his true self, Lee breaks up with him and he gets arrested by the police and taken back to the Arkham Asylum.
There, a fellow inmate tells Arthur a joke, except the punchline of the joke is stabbing Arthur in the stomach and leaving him to die while laughing like a maniac.
Joker 2 then calls for the end as the inmate played by actor Jacob Lofland, smiles the iconic 'Glasgow smile' as a callback to Heath Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight, which implies that Arthur was not the Clown Prince of Crime, after all.
