- Quick Answer: Ryan Reynolds revealed he would willingly cameo in DC's Lanterns, expressing gratitude for lessons learned on his poorly received 2011 Green Lantern project.
Ryan Reynolds revealed he is open to making a cameo appearance in Lanterns after years of mocking his failed Green Lantern movie.
Before he took on the role of Deadpool, the A-list star made his first attempt as the lead in a superhero movie in 2011's Green Lantern, where he played Hal Jordan. However, it was maligned by critics and fans and, in the years after, Reynolds himself has also mocked it on various occasions.
The Green Lantern Corps is back in the spotlight again thanks to the DCU series Lanterns, which has been praised by fans and audiences. Now, Reynolds has weighed in on the possibility of returning to the world.
Is Ryan Reynolds Open to a Lanterns Cameo Appearance?

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight during the red carpet premiere of his new film Mayday, Ryan Reynolds was asked whether he is open to making a cameo appearance in Lanterns.
Surprisingly, he said that he is interested in showing up in the DCU series and emphasized that he still had a great experience working in Green Lantern.
"I would totally do a cameo in that. I love it. I mean, you know, I learned so much making that movie. And I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, ‘Oh, learned what not to do,’" the A-list star said.
"In some, in part, yes, but also that any time you’re making something that large, there are core lessons that come of it, and I owe my entire career to that movie. I owe everything to that. Everything about it was like a gift that keeps on giving, and I really enjoyed the experience of making it."
This response might surprise a lot of fans, given that Reynolds has poked fun at the 2011 film in the years after the release, including in the Deadpool movies. Not only that, he is currently seen as one of the major stars of the Marvel universe.
While it remains to be seen whether Reynolds will eventually appear in the DCU series, it is great to hear that he still has an affinity for the Green Lantern world despite the maligned reception of his film.
