- Quick Answer: After settling her legal battle, Gina Carano confirmed recent talks with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, leaving fans hopeful for a possible Star Wars comeback.
Gina Carano recently teased a potential comeback in the Star Wars franchise following a meeting with the Lucasfilm team.
After playing Cara Dune for two seasons, the former Mandalorian star was notably fired in early 2021 following a series of controversial remarks on social media. She filed a lawsuit against Disney for wrongful termination, which resulted in a settlement.
Now that the legal battle is over, does it mean that fans can expect her return to the galaxy far, far away?
Is Gina Carano Returning to the Star Wars Franchise?

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani (via CBR), Carano shared that she already had talks with Lucasfilm about the possibility of returning to the Star Wars franchise.
While nothing official has been set yet, she claimed that their conversation has been productive and she is hopeful that it will lead to fruitful results later on.
"I've already had a conversation with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, really lovely. You know, after we settled the lawsuit, we got on a Zoom call. It was really nice," the former Star Wars actress said.
"Dave Filoni is taking over as [the Chief Creative Officer] of Star Wars. And it's like we didn't even miss a beat. Jon Favreau was really funny. He got on the Zoom, and he's like, 'So, where did we leave off?' We hadn't spoken for a while, and he's like, 'Where did we leave off?' They've been in that world a long time."
As we wait for news on whether she will indeed return to Star Wars, Carano is optimistic about the future of her acting career.
"You know, I think you have a decision in life. You can go left, and you can just completely give up on yourself, and wallow in pain and regret, and all of that, or you can go right, and you can get your s*** together, and you can say, 'No. I'm going to do everything I can.' I've chosen to go that direction, and I feel more alive than I've ever felt," she said.
So far, Lucasfilm has not shared any official updates regarding the potential future of Carano in the Star Wars franchise.
