Winter 24 has lots of action-packed shows, but for romance fans, there’s A Sign of Affection. With the anime adaptation now airing, some fans have one question on their minds: is the A Sign of Affection manga ending?
This is a fair question in that an anime release may indicate that a manga is going to end soon. After all, this is kind of what happened to Delicious in Dungeon as its manga ended just before the anime aired.
Another anime like this is Call of the Night. After its hit anime adaptation in Summer 22, the original manga ended just recently – with a gap of just around a year.
A Sign of Affection: A Stand-Out Romance of Winter 24
A Sign of Affection is a new romance anime with a cute premise. It follows Yuki Itose, a deaf university student who soon falls for a multilingual senior enrolled in the same university named Itsuomi Nagi.
The anime may have only premiered this season, but the manga has been ongoing since July 2019. Thus, some fans fear that the manga getting adapted into an anime means it will end soon.
For now, there are no indications that the manga will end. In fact, a previous interview with the series’ creators gives fans a good idea of what to expect regarding the manga’s length.
Is A Sign of Affection Manga Ending? Here’s What the Author Has to Say
Back in March 2022, the German publication Manga Passion shared an interview with suu Morishita, the manga’s creator duo.
There, the creators revealed that their plan is for the manga to be a little longer than 12 volumes. They did not mention a specific volume or chapter count target, but this is already a solid indication of their plans.
Given that the series’ 10th volume was released back in December, coupled with its monthly release schedule, it’s highly likely that the manga will continue at the very least through 2024.
Unless the authors’ plans have changed, it’s fair to say that the manga might even continue until 2025.
