A Condition Called Love follows the story of high schoolers Hotaru Hinase and Saki Hananoi. In the beginning, Hotaru is solely focused on her family and friends and has no interest in matters of the heart.

One day, she witnesses Hananoi, a handsome honor student from her school, getting rejected on a snowy day. She then lends her umbrella to him as a gesture of kindness.

The following morning, Hananoi visits Hotaru in her classroom and unexpectedly asks her to be his girlfriend.

Thus begins the love story between a girl who doesn't understand love and a boy whose love is too heavy.
