Cheryl Burke has joined the growing list of celebrities accused of using Ozempic, the weight-loss drug originally designed for type 2 diabetes.
While many have denied using this controversial medication, others have openly admitted to it.
As its off-label use for slimming down continues to be a hot topic in Hollywood, here are the celebrities who have been accused of using Ozempic.
Cheryl Burke
Cheryl Burke recently hit the headlines with her dramatic body transformation, showing off a much-leaner physique in her recent GRWM (get ready with me) video on TikTok.
As this surprised many of her followers and fans alike, some say she looked “unrecognizable” while others accused her of going under the knife for having a “new face” and using Ozempic.
But the 41-year-old dancer didn’t let anyone bring her down. In an interview with People, Burke admitted that she had lost 35 pounds after changing her diet and exercise regimen.
She credited intermittent fasting, eating clean foods, walking her dog and on a treadmill, and taking fitness classes for her weight loss.
Burke then addressed the online hate and accusations—saddened by the attacks that came from “mainly women.”
“These are all assumptions that people have thrown at me, as far as Ozempic, my face. I’ve always had criticism, but what’s shocking is that this is worse than when I gained weight. These are really mean and cruel messages,” she said. “I just want people to know that I’m not sick and I have never gone under the knife for anything. I didn’t get a brow lift; I didn’t get a face transplant. This is my body and this is how I feel best in it today.”
Khloe Kardashian
Back in January 2024, Khloe Kardashian debuted her trim figure on Instagram that shocked many of her social media followers.
The sudden change sparked speculation that she might be using Ozempic, with numerous comments pointing to her rapid weight loss.
As the reality TV star wouldn’t just let it slide, she responded to one of the comments, saying “Let’s not discredit my years of working out.”
“I get up 5 days a week at 6am to train. Please stop with your assumptions,” she continued.
In 2021, she revealed that her battle with body image fueled her desire to be fit after an unauthorized bikini photo of her was leaked online.
“For over a decade now in photos, every single flaw and imperfection has been micro-analyzed and made fun of to the smallest detail and I am reminded of them everyday by the world,” she wrote on Instagram. “And when I take that criticism to use as motivation to get myself in the best shape of my life
Kardashian also got candid about the use of Ozempic, telling Bustle in December 2024 that no one cared if people would “get surgery or [get on] the Ozempic craze.”
“As long as people feel good about themselves, who am I to judge? I think it’s ridiculous, the judgment on that,” she explained. “I’m just mad [Ozempic] wasn’t around 10 years ago.”
Lizzo
Lizzo is another one of the celebrities who is famously accused of using Ozempic after sharing videos of her weight loss transformation.
In a video post on Instagram, the singer-rapper she owed he much-sexier shape to weight training and calorie deficit.
She also shared some clips showing her working out and before-and-after shots of her weight loss while wearing her shapewear brand Yitty.
Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson is well aware of the speculation surrounding her new body size, but she firmly emphasized that it wasn’t Ozempic but another drug.
In an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show in May 2024, the American Idol inaugural winner admitted that she had slimmed down by taking medication that helped “break down the sugar” after her “bloodwork got so bad.”
“Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic. It’s not,” she said.
However, the 43-year-old star refused to say the name of the drug. Clarkson has been open about her journey after revealing she was diagnosed as a pre-diabetic in January 2024.
Since then, she has been focusing on her health, losing weight as she watches what she eats and becomes more active.
“I eat a healthy mix. I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor — a couple years I didn’t. And 90 percent of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!” she told People.
Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera’s weight loss has also sparked rumors about her potential use of Ozempic.
There’s no denying that the “Genie in the Bottle” hitmaker’s weight has fluctuated dramatically after ballooning to about 140 pounds and is now believed to be a little just over 100.
The speculations of her Ozempic use began after one of her performances in Mexico in May 2024. It was then followed by numerous comments about how “well” the drug worked on her after a video of her singing circulated on TikTok.
“Ozempic ages everyone terribly but it’s honestly working wonders for her. She looks incredible,” one of the comments read.
As Aguilera neither denied not confirmed the claim, she told Glamour in August 2024, “Other people’s opinions of me are not my business.”
Robbie Williams
Robbie Williams has also shown a dramatic weight loss that left many jaws dropping. In 2023, she addressed the assumptions about her transformation in a frank post on Instagram, opening up about having body dysmorphia and calling it a “f***ing disaster.”
He then admitted to The Times that he was on Ozempic, though only “something like” it. “It’s a Christmas miracle,” he added.
“I need it, medically. I’ve been diagnosed with type 2 self-loathing,” he revealed. “It’s shockingly catastrophic to my mental health to be bigger. My inner voice talks to me like Katie Hopkins talks about fat people. It’s maddening.”
Williams claimed he had lost over a stone after taking the Ozempic-like drug.
Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner has been pretty slim all her life, but she surprisingly gets thinner after giving birth to her second child, Aire Webster.
But though many believe it’s because of Ozempic, especially after her ex Travis Scott released a song with lyrics “she doin’ Ozempic,” the beauty mogul has denied the claims.
“I see pictures [online] and people are accusing me of being on drugs or something,” she told Vogue UK. “I’m back at my weight I was before I had my daughter and son and people are putting side by sides of me three months postpartum. I’m like: ‘Does everyone forget that I had two children and I gained 60 pounds both pregnancies?’”
Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson’s appearance has always been a hot topic. As many noticed she had slimmed down in 2023, with many claiming it had something to do with taking Ozempic, she quickly denied the assumptions.
“It is not [Ozempic]; it's willpower,” she told Bustle.
The singer-actress, who just made her return on live TV after 15 years, has gone through weight fluctuations over the years.
“I am fortunate to have been every size,” she said, considering it as an asset for her brand to understand women more and for her psyche.
But despite the wisdom she has gained from her changing body weight, she still feels hurt to see comments about her body.
“Am I going to let the negativity derail me? No, I'm too old for that,” she continued. “I am too connected to myself right now to let that derail me. It doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt.”
Ozempic is now deemed the “slimdown secret” in Hollywood due to its rapid weight-loss side effect. But despite its popularity and widespread use, it’s still important to recognize the hard work many celebrities put in to achieve what they consider perfect physique.
