It's the 2025 Met Gala, and yet Kylie Jenner flew solo on the red carpet, no Timothèe Chalamet in sight.
Don't get us wrong, Kylie can rock and stun on her own, but this is not the first time her boyfriend failed to accompany her in public.
Kylie Jenner Walks the Met Gala Red Carpet Without Beau
On May 5, Jenner stunned and posed alongside Maximilian Davis, the creative director behind the Ferragamo gown. Considering the dress code for this year's Met Gala is "Tailored for You," Jenner got to strut her stuff alone.
It's the eighth time Jenner has attended the exclusive event, but still, fans expected she would walk down the carpet beside Chalamet, whose last Met Gala was in 2021. He hasn't been to one since.
It doesn't help that, of the previous Met Gala appearances, Jenner usually came with her partners, like ex-boyfriend Travis Scott in 2018 and 2019, with whom she shares two kids: Stormi and Aire. So, where has Chalamet run off to?
As it turns out, Jenner's boyfriend since 2023, was noticeably absent from this year's Gala to prioritize watching the New York Knicks game against the Boston Celtics at home.
On his Instagram stories, the Complete Unknown star shared point-of-view photos of the game playing on his iPad while keeping himself cozy in a gray hoodie.
The night was not just for Kylie, but supposedly to stand in the spotlight and declare their status to the cameras, so why did Chalamet let his girlfriend fly solo?
What Kylie Jenner and Timothèe Chalamet Said About Public Appearances
While the couple certainly made headlines since they publicized their relationship status, they have yet to actually grace the red carpet as the iconic duo fans expected them to be. It's common for Hollywood couples to, after all.
But that's not the case with Jenner and Chalamet.
The first time they made heads turn was during the 2025 Golden Globes, when the couple didn't make their red carpet debut.
According to an insider, Kylie couldn't be happier to support him on the sides, "Kylie really is his best friend and his biggest supporter. They have such a strong connection, and he was so thankful she could be there with him."
The source added that Timothée "felt a sense of comfort having Kylie there with him."
They first sparked dating speculations in spring 2023 before eventually making their public debut in September at Beyoncé's concert in Los Angeles.
Even though they don't attend events together, they managed to sneak in and treat it as one of their date nights.
At the time, an insider said that Jenner is "incredibly happy" with Chalamet, revealing that by December, she was officially calling him "her boyfriend."
It was also the first time they had disclosed their unconventional set-up, in which they both support each other's careers and attend important events for each other, without being required to make public appearances, keeping things low-key between them and the paparazzi.
