Sean “Diddy” Combs is still awaiting sentencing, scheduled for October, but U.S. President Donald Trump is now considering clemency for the music mogul.
The rap icon was acquitted of his most serious charges—sex trafficking and racketeering—but was found guilty on two counts of transportation for engaging in prostitution. He had pleaded not guilty to all five charges. As he’s now facing up to three years in federal prison, will Diddy be pardoned?
Will Donald Trump Pardon Diddy?

During a White House event in May, Trump said he “would certainly look at the facts” when asked whether he would consider pardoning Diddy.
Two months later, a source told Deadline the POTUS is now “seriously considering” it. Other insiders claimed the topic has evolved from “just another Trump weave to an actionable event” since the “All About the Benjamins” performer was found guilty.
According to TMZ, the White House has been in contact with Diddy’s legal team about a possible pardon. However, the final decision may depend on Judge Arun Subramanian’s upcoming ruling on bail.
A source explained that although Trump is “more than open” to pardoning Diddy, he still wants to see how the judge handles the record producer’s case.
If Diddy is granted bail, Trump will wait until after sentencing to make a decision. If bail is denied, a decision on clemency could come immediately.
Meanwhile, Deadline reports that Diddy’s team has given “no comment” on any potential pardon, while a White House official stated, “The White House will not comment on the existence or nonexistence of any clemency request.”
Will Diddy Be Granted Bail?

Diddy has reportedly asked a judge to release him on a $50 million bond as he awaits sentencing at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he has been held since his arrest in September 2024.
His lawyer argued that the conditions at the detention center are dangerous and that others convicted of similar offenses are typically released before sentencing.
“Sean Combs should not be in jail for this conduct,” Marc Agnifilo said in a court filing obtained by Sky News. “In fact, he may be the only person currently in a United States jail for being any sort of John, and certainly the only person in jail for hiring adult male escorts for him and his girlfriend.”
A “John” is a slang terms for someone who hires a prostitute.
Prosecutors have previously maintained that Diddy remains a flight risk and should not be granted bail.
After Diddy was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering, Agnifilo requested that his client be released on bond.
However, Subramanian denied the motion, stating that Diddy had not met the burden of showing, by clear and convincing evidence, that he posed no danger to any person or the community at the time.
