What Is Shizuka Mikazuki’s Dream?
In Zom 100, Shizuka Mikazuki has always wanted to be a doctor. Her father, however, will not allow her to pursue her aspirations because he believes that her only daughter and heiress is far more deserving of a different path in life.
He also worries that Shizuka will only squander her life by giving medical care to the less fortunate. It will not be very beneficial for their family at all.
Shizuka’s dream started at a young age. As the heiress of an extremely wealthy and powerful man, Shizuka was always by herself, surrounded by her bodyguards.
She doesn’t have any good childhood memories like other kids her age because she was not allowed to play and spend time with other people.
At some point, Shizuka stumbled upon a helpless puppy, which she decided to care for in secret.
She started loving the puppy like a friend, but not until his father knew about her secret.
As expected, Shizuka lost the puppy after her father ordered some of his men to take it down.
This devastated Shizuka, who ultimately vowed to become a doctor after feeling helpless in front of her dead puppy.
Unfortunately, it’s not an easy path for someone like Shizuka. Her father appointed her as the company accountant for their business. She basically doesn’t have time to pursue what she wants in life.
And because of this, Shizuka’s personality was greatly affected, including her perspective on people like Akira and Kencho.

Does Shizuka Become a Doctor in Zom 100?
As of writing, Shizuka is not yet a doctor in Zom 100, but this doesn’t mean that she stopped pursuing her dreams!
Rather, Shizuka aims to become a doctor, thanks to the encouragement of both Akira and Kencho. She also plans to pursue her dreams once Japan returns to its former glory and the whole world is zombie-free.
When the zombie apocalypse began, Shizuka cut ties with her father. It is still unknown what has happened between them, but Shizuka is now a changed woman who wants to live for herself rather than for others.
In fact, Shizuka gave her dreams another chance after seeing Akira and Kencho’s determination to pursue their own.
She even had a chance to treat people when they visited Akira’s village in Gunma. The village people, especially the elderly ones, relied on Shizuka for their treatment.
Shizuka is a very intelligent woman, and she applies her medical knowledge to help others. Because of this, the village people sometimes address her as a doctor, even though she’s not a real one.
From here on, Shizuka decided to go after her dreams once more, all the while helping Akira finish his ultimate bucket list of the dead!

Does Shizuka Become a Zombie in Zom 100?
Thankfully, Shizuka is not yet a zombie in Zom 100, similar to Akira, Kencho, and Bea. They are still together, going on road trips, and ticking off spontaneous items on Akira’s bucket list.
However, Shizuka is a zombie-bite survivor. She was bitten on the arm following their entry into one of Umbriel Corporation’s research facilities.
She was talking with Akira about her dreams when a zombie suddenly attacked her from behind, much to Akira’s surprise.
That’s when Tsuru decided to inject Shizuka with the zombie serum made from Izuna’s antibodies. Shizuka’s body didn’t reject the serum, and she recovered immediately.
But the zombie serum is not effective for all people, which is why Shizuka and the others are still adamant about producing a vaccine that will prevent the virus from spreading.
