Things are never quite what you expect in Game of Thrones. The past few episodes of Season 8 have already proven that most of the fan theories are completely wrong and people still have no idea what to expect in the final season. But did The Last of the Starks just hint at a greater threat just being around the corner?
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! Watch Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 before reading the article!
In The Last of the Starks, it was finally decided that everyone will head for King's Landing so Daenerys Targaryen can continue with her war against Cersei Lannister. Although Daenerys' army went with her, Tormund Giantsbane opted out of the deal.
After having his heart broken when Brienne of Tarth chose to be with Jaime Lannister, Tormund told Jon Snow that he is bringing the wildling back North of the Wall. He had several reasons for wanting to go back home and Jon asked him to bring Ghost along so the direwolf could live wild and free.
It might be a simple way to write off certain characters now that the series is drawing to an end. However, some fans believe that taking Tormund, the Freefolk, and Ghost out beyond the Wall was important. After all, there are speculations that the White Walkers might return before the season finale and what better way to bring them back than to encounter some beloved characters?
We're certainly hoping that Tormund and Ghost stay safe while they are out there beyond the Wall. However, considering that this is Game of Thrones, we always need to be cautious about what will happen in the next episodes.
Do you think the White Walker will be back in Game of Thrones Season 8? Sound off in the comments below.
