Ryan Reynolds went out and did it — the Deadpool star just confirmed that the Merc with the Mouth's sexual tensions works on 'everyone', including Wolverine.
Considering that Deadpool and Wolverine pretty much owed its success to fans, here's what this could mean for the Merc's representation now that he's joining the MCU.
Ryan Reynolds Said It: Deadpool Has Sexual Tension with 'Everything'
Deadpool has long been depicted as a queer character in the canon events of the comics, and for the past three flicks, the Merc never disappoints. This time, Ryan Reynolds sets the record about Deadpool's identity outside his mercenary ways.
"I can't speak for Wolverine, but I feel like Deadpool has sexual tension with everything and everyone," Reynolds recently told Variety.
Deadpool and Wolverine co-star Hugh Jackman chimed in to say, "Don't deny this is special," pertaining to their on-screen chemistry as the unlikely mutant duo.
And Reynolds couldn't agree more, "My God, like two magnets facing the wrong direction."
It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time Reynolds has spoken about Merc's sexuality when it comes to adapting him to the big screen. Back in 2018, the Free Guy star said he was very much open to portraying more of Deadpool's pansexuality.
"The great thing about Deadpool is that we're allowed to do things that other superhero movies don't necessarily do, and that's one of them," Reynolds replied to a fan who asked about future gay and bi representation in the franchise.
"It's something that I'd love to see more of, certainly through Wade, certainly through this universe, because it's something that we're building out more."
The Merc has never been afraid to show what he's capable of, may it be breaking the fourth wall and developing an R-rated film under Disney — anything can happen to Deadpool's future and fans couldn't be happier to watch it unfold.
